He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 754

She had to answer that call.

If she didn't, there was no telling what the fallout would be.

With all the chaos lately, she genuinely wasn't sure what Julian might do.

The moment Sebastian stopped, a wave of relief washed over her.

She snatched up the phone and answered.

But the second she swiped the screen, her eyes blew wide, staring at him in sheer, unadulterated disbelief.

He renewed his assault with even more ferocity, relentless and cruel.

She didn't dare make a single sound.

Her free hand gripped the headboard like a lifeline.

The phone trembled violently in her other hand.

She truly believed he had lost his mind.

But she also knew exactly what he was doing.

She had vastly underestimated just how unhinged and demanding he could be.

After a long, agonizing pause from her end, Julian finally spoke up. "Lena?"

Between the physical overload and the sheer panic of the situation, a jolt of raw tension shot from her toes straight to her brain. She had completely lost control.

When she finally answered, her voice was a breathy murmur.

Julian asked gently, "Were you sleeping?"

"Yeah. A little tired. I'll call you back later." Her words were slurred and disjointed, but she eagerly grabbed onto the excuse he provided.

Without even waiting for him to reply, she hung up the phone.

She didn't have the mental capacity to overthink it.

She knew she always sounded like this when she was half-asleep.

Julian had caught her napping before.

But Sebastian didn't stop.

The second the call disconnected, he let out a dark scoff. "So all it takes is a call from Julian to get a reaction out of you?"

Humiliation flooded her.

He refused to let it go, biting out every word. "Is this what gets you off?"

Helena was teetering on the edge of a total breakdown.

A suffocating blend of panic, rage, and agonizing dread clawed at her throat.

Her muscles were locked so tight she physically couldn't relax.

But Sebastian acted as if he couldn't care less.

He didn't even spare her a second glance.

Out of nowhere, Skye's voice echoed from the hall. "Sebastian, are you in there?"

Helena snapped back to reality, though her body remained rigid.

The blood drained from her face.

He answered smoothly. "Yeah, I'm in here. I'll be right out."

He always seemed so much gentler when dealing with Skye.

At the very least, he kept his sociopathic edge buried deep, never letting the child see the monster underneath.

"Alright. Helena isn't awake yet, so I'll wait for you in the living room," she mumbled sleepily.

With that, her little footsteps patted away.
