Her heart hammered violently against her ribs as she watched him approach.
Even Julian frowned, completely unable to read the billionaire's lethal intent.
But instead of throwing a punch, Sebastian simply stopped in front of her and casually leaned down.
Paralyzed by the sheer tension, Helena froze, unable to react in time.
He pressed a slow, possessive kiss directly to her forehead.
"Alright, you two catch up. I'll drop by later tonight," he announced smoothly.
Before she could even process the audacity of the move, he spun around and casually strolled out of the room.
The second the door clicked shut, Julian let out a sharp, incredulous bark of laughter.
"Why the hell did he just make me feel like the other man?" he demanded, gesturing wildly at himself.
She didn't know how to respond to that.
Julian looked down at her, his expression instantly sobering. "Are you two back together?"
"No," she denied it instantly. "But I honestly have no idea how to make him stop. It's like every time I think I've finally cut him off, he just reinvents a new way to force himself back into my life."
She genuinely felt like she was on the verge of a complete psychological breakdown.
"I'm trapped in this endless, toxic loop, and I can't find the exit," she finished, her voice heavy with pure exhaustion.
"Sebastian isn't the type of man to ever just let something go," Julian pointed out ruthlessly.
She couldn't argue with that.
"Also, there's still zero trace of where Janetta Ramirez vanished to. And even though Cyrus Hayes is currently losing the war, any man who can hold his own against Sebastian for this long is a lethal threat," Julian listed off the looming disasters with terrifying calm.
"I know," she murmured softly.
She clearly had zero desire to dive into the psychotic dynamics of the Hayes family civil war.
Catching the hint, Julian wisely dropped the subject.
They shifted the conversation to safer topics, entirely avoiding Sebastian's name.
Until she finally broached the subject of Isla. "You still haven't found her?"
Ever since Isla resigned from the Campbell Corporation, she had seemingly vanished off the face of the earth.
The fact that Julian's massive intelligence network hadn't found a single trace of her was incredibly disturbing.
"No," he admitted grimly.
