He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 987

The bedroom sank into a heavy silence.

It wasn't until the loud crackle of fireworks outside shattered the quiet that the tension finally broke.

Sebastian stood by Helena's side near the floor-to-ceiling window, watching the vibrant display.

They stood together in comfortable silence.

Midway through, Kyle texted Helena photos of the dumplings he was eating.

Kyle: [Grandma says we have to do as the locals do.]

Helena smiled and typed a quick reply.

The two of them exchanged messages casually.

Eventually, Skye jumped into the conversation, turning it into a three-way group chat.

Sebastian didn't intervene.

But right at 10:10 PM, Sebastian suddenly reached out and snatched Helena's phone from her hand.

The three of them were on a video call.

Sebastian's face suddenly filled the screen.

The lively chatter died instantly.

"Daddy..."

"Sebastian..."

Sebastian spoke with an unhurried, authoritative tone. "Why aren't you two asleep? Look at the time."

The second the words left his mouth, Kyle blurted out a rapid "Goodnight" and instantly hung up.

The call was dead.

Sebastian then turned his attention back to Helena. "You too. Time for bed."

Helena intentionally tried to make things difficult, pretending she had no idea what he meant.

Sebastian didn't care in the slightest.

"Helena, if you're not tired, I'm more than happy to help you burn off some energy," Sebastian offered with a dangerous smoothness.

It was a blatant threat.

Helena's face flushed with anger, finding him utterly shameless.

But she was completely powerless against him, so she spun around in a huff.

Watching her storm off, Sebastian let out a low, amused chuckle.

Helena's room was actually quite spacious.

It had the standard setup of a large bed and an adjoining sitting area with a couch.

Perhaps because of what had happened earlier, or perhaps for entirely different reasons.

Sebastian completely bypassed the couch and slid right into Helena's bed like he belonged there.

Helena scowled, glaring daggers at him.
