Sebastian's head pounded with rage. "You think you can just throw money at this? Do you realize this is a criminal offense? You could go to prison!"

Chloe genuinely hadn't realized the severity of her actions. Panic edged into her voice. "I didn't mean for it to go that far..."

"Then why the hell did you do it?" he demanded coldly.

That just brought out her indignation. "Because Jarrod has been ignoring my calls and refusing to see me! He spends all his time orbiting Stella. I was so mad, I just wanted to teach her a lesson. I didn't think it through."

Just as he suspected. A massive headache throbbed at Sebastian's temples.

"When did Jarrod ever say he had feelings for you? You're making a fool of yourself! If he finds out, he'll never forgive you."

"I don't care if he forgives me or not! I'm not afraid!" Chloe retorted stubbornly. "I did what I did, and I'll deal with the fallout myself!"

Sebastian was so stunned by her sheer ignorance that he was temporarily left speechless.

Chloe was still wallowing in self-pity. "Jarrod didn't even want to get involved, yet the moment he heard from Mr. Halloway, he went straight to you. He really couldn't even bother calling me himself?"

Realizing Chloe mistakenly assumed Jarrod had ratted her out, Sebastian didn't bother correcting her.

"You are going to the police station tomorrow to turn yourself in," he ordered sternly. "And then you are going to apologize to Stella."

Chloe balked at the idea, but she didn't want the situation to spiral out of control either. "And what if she won't forgive me?"

"Then that's exactly what you deserve!" Sebastian snapped.

Ending the call, Sebastian decided he had to speak with Stella.

First, he needed to tell her the truth about the factory. Second, it was time to confess that Chloe was his sister, and that he had been friends with Jarrod for years.
