He hadn't bothered with his jacket, and the top two buttons of his dress shirt hung open. His face was still a thunderous mask of rage.
Stella stepped forward, offering his coat, and immediately launched into an explanation. "Sebastian is the lead designer for SD Apparel, he—"
Before she could finish, Jarrod's hand snapped out, seizing her jaw as he crushed his lips against hers in a punishing kiss!
Stella jerked back in shock, but he shackled her wrist, hauling her flush against his chest as his arm wrapped like a vice around her waist.
"Where do you think you're going?" he snarled against her mouth. "In case you forgot, you are still my wife!"
Stella tipped her head back, meeting his terrifyingly cold gaze. He ground the words out through his teeth, looking as though he wanted to devour her whole.
She knew Sebastian had a crush on her, and showing up at her door at the crack of dawn wasn't exactly appropriate, but wasn't Jarrod overreacting just a little?
Her brows knitted together in anger. "If you're going to act like a lunatic, get out. I don't have time for this."
Jealousy ripped through Jarrod's veins like battery acid, completely incinerating his sanity. He wanted to pin her to the wall and demand to know why she was letting his best friend orbit around her!
The last shred of his logic knew Stella had done nothing wrong. Sebastian had sought her out intentionally. Taking his fury out on her was completely unhinged.
But he was still consumed by blind rage. He wanted nothing more than to lock her up where no other man could ever look at her again!
The standoff was shattered by a knock on the door. Joey's voice rang out from the hallway, asking if she wanted to grab breakfast downstairs.
"Yeah, give me a second!"
Feeling his grip tightening punishingly around her waist, his eyes darkening dangerously, Stella shoved him hard in the chest, breaking his hold, and stormed to the door.
She slipped out into the hall, pulling the door shut firmly behind her.
Joey tilted his head, thoroughly amused. "What's the matter, Boss? Hiding someone in there?"
Stella shot back with a half-truth. "Yep. Got a six-foot-two supermodel stashed inside."
"Whoa, get it, Boss!" Joey laughed.
