Stella and Summer froze, watching in stunned silence as Lucca bolted from the room with another woman in his arms.

The heavy door slammed shut with a resounding thud, leaving the two of them alone in the quiet booth amidst a messy table of half-empty glasses.

Summer remained dead silent for a long time before a hollow, self-deprecating laugh escaped her lips. "Stella... after seeing that, do you think there's any point in me holding on?"

Stella fully expected Lucca to come back upstairs and apologize, but by the time they finally paid their tab and left, he was nowhere to be seen.

Summer was heavily intoxicated, and Stella absolutely refused to let her go back to her empty apartment alone, deciding to take her to her own place instead.
