Stella was so furious she could barely see straight. "Are you out of your damn mind, Lucca?!" she yelled. "You didn't even see what just happened, and you're immediately blaming Summer!"

Aria immediately sobbed over Stella's voice. "I told her to hit me or yell at me to let her anger out, and I just overwhelmed her..."

Lucca instantly realized he had overreacted. Catching the profound pain in Summer's eyes, he quickly let go of Aria and strode over to his girlfriend. He reached for her hand, his tone softening. "Summer, I'm sorry I raised my voice. Are you okay?"

He reached out, attempting to touch her shoulder. "We've been together for five years. Don't you trust me by now?"

Summer dodged his hand. A bitter smile touched her lips, though her eyes glistened with unshed tears. "That's exactly what makes this so pathetic—our five years together. Do you honestly think I'm that petty and heartless? If she really needed help and you had just been honest with me, would I have stopped you? We both know exactly what your real intentions were.
