Chapter 6
Everyone started blaming me for causing a scene, but I ignored them.
Just then, in the footage, Fiona pulled a pack of cigarettes from her pocket.
She took one out, lit it with a lighter, held it between her fingers, and smoked leisurely.
That’s when I noticed–her hands looked exactly like the mistress’s hands in those photos on my secondhand phone!
Suddenly everything clicked into place!
“I found that slut!”
Everyone was startled.
I pointed at Fiona on the screen: “She’s the mistress!”
Dorian cried even louder: “Waaahhh-”
My best friend Sophia sighed:
“Victoria! Don’t go around slandering innocent people!”
The other friends didn’t believe it either:
“You’re the company’s tech director–you’ve got money and looks!”
“Even if Dorian really was cheating, he wouldn’t go for a security guard who’s inferior to you in every way!”
“Exactly! How is that even possible?”
The bespectacled guard made a disgusted sound:
“What’s wrong with being a security guard? We’re women too!”
“Just because our job isn’t glamorous doesn’t mean we can’t find decent boyfriends!”
“Some guys even throw themselves at us!”
Everyone coughed awkwardly to cover the tension.
Sophia patted the guard’s shoulder apologetically:
“Don’t take it personally! We’re not looking down on security work!”

Chapter 6
“But honestly, our brother–in–law probably wouldn’t cheat with a security guard!”
The bespectacled guard snorted dismissively.
I pulled out my phone and showed everyone the photos.
“Look–this guard’s hands are identical to the hands in this picture!”
The guard had a small mole at the base of her thumb, in exactly the same position as in the photo.
“Coming to my house, using my phone–and you still claim you’re innocent?!”
Everyone passed my phone around:
“These hands do look very similar!”
“The photo’s a bit blurry, but they’re definitely alike!”
Dorian was stunned when I produced the photos:
“Victoria, where did you get these pictures?”
He hadn’t expected me to have photographic evidence.
I said through gritted teeth:
“Didn’t you say this phone was a gift for me? But when I opened it, I discovered it was someone else’s used phone!”
“Dorian, don’t you feel sick? Using my money to buy gifts for your mistress, then when she’s done with it, you give me her leftovers!”
Everyone fell silent, their gazes toward Dorian shifting noticeably.
Dorian bit his lip: “You suspect me of cheating just because of this?”
I stared at him coldly and snorted.
Dorian choked up:
“I bought this phone early–I was planning to use it secretly for a few days first, but I saw you looking unhappy, so I gave it to you early.”
“Those photos might have been taken accidentally when that guard came to our place before.”
“You were on a business trip, and our lights weren’t working so she came to change the bulbs.”
“It was nighttime, and I used my phone’s flashlight for illumination–that’s probably when the photos were taken.”

Chapter 6
“I was wrong about the phone–I resealed the packaging myself.”
“But you can’t accuse me of cheating over something like this”
Everyone found Dorian’s explanation reasonable and convincing.
“Victoria, you’ve always been overly cautious–sometimes I think you’re a bit paranoid!”
“Cheating accusations aren’t something to throw around lightly–that could destroy a man’s reputation completely!”
“You can’t make such claims without solid evidence!”
“You two have been together since college through marriage–such pure love!”
“We’re all so envious of you–I really don’t think our guy is that type!”
“Couples need to communicate openly–don’t let misunderstandings cause you both to regret it later!”
Dorian continued sobbing quietly, as if he’d suffered the greatest injustice.
But I shook my head: “That security guard is definitely the mistress!”
