Chapter 6
Inside the security office.
Mira was doubled over laughing. “Oh my God, I can’t breathe. This is insane!”
Talia elbowed her and cleared her throat.
Mira blinked at her, confused. “What? Why’d you poke me? This is hilarious. Why aren’t you laughing?”
Two seconds of silence. Then Mira’s head snapped toward me, her smile vanishing.
She stammered, “Petra, I didn’t mean–uh, I wasn’t-”
Seeing her look like a guilty puppy cracked me up. God, I needed that.
“It’s fine. Seriously. You’re absolutely right.” I held up my fingers, pinching the air.
Mira’s eyes went wide with relief. “Petra, you’ve been settling for trash this whole time. Getting rid of this parasite is a good thing.”
Her conviction was almost inspiring. Talia rubbed her forehead. “Alright, drama queen. Time to get serious.”
On screen, Finley kissed the limp Sienna, wrapped a towel around his waist, and went to answer the door.
Since Sienna had checked in under her own name, Finley probably thought it was room service. He yanked the door open, annoyed.
“What’s with all the banging? Is this how your hotel treats guests? No sense of boundaries.”
“I’m filing a complaint.”
The moment he opened the door, it synced perfectly with the livestream feed.
Tina stared at him, eyes red and brimming with tears. “What are you doing? Why would you do this? My classmates saw everything.”
“Mom, have you lost your mind?!” She clawed at the doorframe, sobbing.
A sea of phones lifted in unison. Someone’s flash went off.
Click. Click. Blinding light.
Finley’s face instantly went white. He shoved Tina aside and tried to slam the door.
His lips trembled. “Tina, I don’t know what you’re talking about. I just took a shower. I need to rest.”
Hotel security rushed in, blocking the door and dragging Sienna out of bed.
She was in nothing but her underwear, covered in marks. “Let go of me! This is illegal! Don’t touch me!”
The lead guard released her and she hit the floor hard. “Ma’am, you’re suspected of solicitation. You’ve caused serious damage to this hotel’s reputation.”

Chapter 6
Finley pulled the trembling Sienna behind him, voice rising. “What are you talking about? This is my partner. I’m calling the police on you!”
The guard didn’t flinch. He pressed his earpiece, waiting for my signal.
[Bring them both to the main hall.]
[Everyone’s invited.]
The muscled security team herded Finley and Sienna toward the hall. The crowd behind them grew with every step.
Finley didn’t have his phone. His arms were pinned as he stumbled forward, twisting back to look for help.
Suddenly, his eyes lit up. “Tina! Call the police! Hurry up, don’t just stand there!”
Tina, still shaking, pulled out her phone–only to have it ripped from her hand.
The curly–haired girl from earlier stood over her, smirking.
“Hello, officer? This is the Natural Springs Resort in Phoenix. Someone’s soliciting here.”
