My lips twitched. “He deserved it.”
Hannah stepped closer, the tie held between her fingers. “May I?”
I hesitated, then moved toward her, lowering my head slightly. Hannah reached up, slipping the tie around my collar. Her fingers worked with surprising dexterity, looping and folding the silk in precise movements. The scent of her perfume – something light and citrusy –
filled my senses.
“Where did you learn to tie ties?” I asked, my voice lower than I intended.
“My third brother’s graduation,” Hannah replied, her eyes focused on her task. “He couldn’t figure it out, and my father was… unavailable. So I watched a video tutorial and practiced on myself until I got it right.”
“What about your other brothers?” I asked.
“I was too young when they graduated,” she said, making a final adjustment. “There, perfect.”
I looked down at her handiwork. “So I’m only the second man you’ve tied a tie for?”
Hannah nodded, smoothing the silk against my chest. “Does that bother you?”
“It should be the first,” I said, feeling a hint of possessiveness that surprised even me.
Hannah’s cheeks flushed slightly as she stepped back to survey her work. “The meeting starts in five minutes. Are you ready?”
I adjusted the knot, fighting the urge to loosen it or pull it off entirely. But seeing the pride in Hannah’s eyes at her handiwork, I left it in
place.
“Let’s go meet Sophia’s team,” I said, my voice hardening at the mention of my father’s mistress.
The executive meeting room fell silent as I strode in. Every person at the long mahogany table rose to their feet, eyes wide with a mixture of curiosity and apprehension. I didn’t rush to fill the silence. Instead, I took my time, surveying each face around the table.
Hannah followed behind me, tablet in hand, the perfect image of an efficient assistant. Her face was composed, professional, but there was a warmth in her eyes that contrasted sharply with my cold demeanor.
Rather than taking the seat at the head of the table – the one clearly intended for me – I remained standing. The position forced everyone else to either sit and look up at me or remain awkwardly on their feet. Most chose to stay standing, shifting uncomfortably
under my gaze.

Chapter 103
“So, I said finally, my voice carrying easily across the room. “This is Sophia Miller’s elite team. The architects behind Sterling
Entertainment’s fifteen percent market value drop.”
The statement landed like a stone in still water, sending ripples of tension through the room. A middle–aged man in an expensive suit
cleared his throat but said nothing. A woman with styled red hair glanced nervously at her colleagues.
“Mr. Sterling, the man finally spoke, “we’ve prepared a comprehensive overview of—”

“I’ve read it,” I cut him off. “Every page of excuses and deflection. What I haven’t seen is a single viable strategy for turning this company
around.”
Hannah stepped forward smoothly, her tablet display projecting onto the large screen at the front of the room. “If I may, Mr. Sterling has
reviewed the quarterly reports and identified several key areas of concern.”
The screen filled with charts showing declining viewership, ballooning production costs, and canceled projects. Hannah moved through the slides with efficient precision, highlighting each problem area as I continued to sweep my cold gaze across the increasingly
uncomfortable executives.
“The most pressing issue, Hannah continued, her voice steady and clear, “is the complete lack of innovative content development. Sterling Entertainment hasn’t launched a successful new series in three years, while competitors have doubled their original
programming.”
My lips curved into a smile that didn’t reach my eyes. “So the question is: which of you is going to convince me why you should keep your
job?”
