Chapter 99
Hannah’s POV

I froze when Finn pointed at the extensive television production section in my learning materials.
His eyes, piercing and intense, studied my face. For a brief moment, I felt like a student caught passing notes in class. I’d spent extra hours researching television production trends, adding detailed notes on storytelling techniques and audience engagement–far more than any other section required.
“You’ve been more thorough with this section than anything else,” he said, tapping the page with his long finger. “Almost as if you had a personal interest.”
I took a deep breath and decided honesty was the best approach. “You caught me. I do have a special interest in television production.” I
smiled, my initial surprise giving way to excitement that he’d noticed. “I’ve always been fascinated by quality storytelling through the
medium of television.”
I couldn’t help but marvel at his observation skills. This was the same man who others claimed could be easily deceived. The same man
who Victoria insisted had been tricked into signing that disastrous contract. Yet here he was, picking up on subtle details most people
would miss.
“You absorbed everything so quickly,” I said, genuinely impressed. “The financial projections, market analysis, distribution channels–you
processed it all in one sitting.”
Finn shrugged as if it were nothing remarkable. “I have a good memory.”
“It’s more than that,” I insisted. “Your learning style reminds me of some of the gifted children I worked with at Sunshine Center. You see
patterns and connections others miss.”
He shifted uncomfortably at the comparison, but didn’t deny it. Instead, he redirected the conversation. “Tell me about your television
ideas.”
My heart raced with sudden excitement. I reached into my bag and pulled out a leather portfolio.
“I want to create something different,” I explained, opening the portfolio to reveal market research and concept sketches. “Not just
another crime drama or medical show.”
I spread out several charts showing viewing trends. “Look at this–supernatural themes are consistently at the top of bestselling fiction lists, but television hasn’t fully capitalized on it. Not in a sophisticated way.”
As I spoke, I felt my face growing warm with passion, my hands gesturing enthusiastically. “There’s this untapped space for mature, complex supernatural stories that deal with human emotions and relationships, not just monsters and magic.”
Finn studied my research, his expression thoughtful. “Supernatural themes require extensive world–building and usually demand high

special effects budgets,” he said, his tone surprisingly professional. “The failure rate for such projects is statistically high.”

He pointed to several data points on my own charts. “Remember Midnight Chronicles? Twenty million per episode and canceled after one season. Or Ethereal? Beautiful concept, but too niche to recoup its investment.”
I nodded, impressed by his industry knowledge.
“We have only two months to prove ourselves,” he continued, his voice carrying a warning. “This isn’t the time for experimental high–risk
ventures.
I leaned forward, undeterred. “That’s exactly why we need to be bold. I’m not suggesting we produce an entire series in two months.”
“Then what are you suggesting?” he asked, one eyebrow raised.
“One episode,” I said confidently. “One phenomenal pilot that showcases everything we could do with a full series.”
Finn’s expression remained skeptical, but I pressed on.
“Look at how Netflix and HBO make decisions,” I explained, pulling out another sheet of statistics. “A brilliant pilot can secure additional investment and platform support, even without the full season being produced.”
“I’ve found a perfect novel for adaptation,” I explained, pulling out a book with colorful sticky notes marking various pages. “It delivers a complete emotional journey that could work beautifully as a standalone pilot while hinting at a larger world. The first chapter alone contains enough drama and intrigue to captivate viewers, but the entire series has incredible expansion potential.”
