Chapter 103

After all, he was the firstborn and the eldest grandson. No matter how much Sarah doted on Nina, when it came down to who really had the edge, he was still ahead.

So, he couldn’t afford to let this marriage with the Mercer family go south.

Martin stood up and said, “Let’s just go over to the Mercer residence ourselves. With the way Nina is, there’s no way she’ll apologize on her own. I don’t want her stirring up more drama and getting Grandma all worked up.”

Vivian’s face darkened. “That old hag? Who cares if she’s pissed? If she hadn’t been holding me back, I would’ve kicked Nina out of the house ages ago. I-”

Before Vivian could finish, Lily quickly tugged at her sleeve. “Mom, keep your voice down. Grandma’s sleeping upstairs.”

Vivian shot a look upstairs, clearly annoyed, and then changed the subject. “Whatever. Let’s just go to the Mercer residence first. We’ll deal with Nina when we get back.”

After dinner, Nina and Ryan dropped Elaine off at her villa and planned to head back to the Swanson residence. But Ryan clearly had no intention of leaving just yet.

Ryan was behind the wheel, while Nina sat in the back.

Instead of heading straight for the Swanson residence, the car kept drifting farther and farther away from home.

Nina frowned. “What are you trying to pull this time?”

“A date,” Ryan replied, as cool as ever.

Nina was speechless.

‘He’s getting more shameless every day,’ she thought.

“Just take me home. I’m tired,” Nina said, not even bothering to argue with Ryan. The more she tried to reason with him, the more pointless it got.

“No, you’re not,” Ryan said, glancing at her in the rearview mirro. “You just had a great time hanging out with Elaine. Now you gotta let me have my turn.”

Before Nina could get a word in, Ryan cut her off. “Nina, you said you’d give me another shot at winning you back. You can’t just talk the talk. You have to walk the walk.”

Nina’s brows were so furrowed. “When I said I’d give you a chance, I didn’t mean you could stick to me like a leech 24/7.”

“It’s not 24/7,” Ryan replied, totally straight-faced. “Ever since you decided to break up with me, we barely even get an hour together each day.”

Of course, whenever some clueless idiot tried to mess with Nina he always managed to stick around a little longer.

Honestly, he kind of owed those people. They were the ones who kept giving him chances to spend time with Nina.

Nina was speechless.

“And one more thing,” Ryan said.

Right as they hit a red light, Ryan stopped the car, turned around, and leaned in way too close. “Nina, it’s been three months

since you even laid a finger on me. Don’t tell me you haven’t been craving this.”

Nina was so stunned. She couldn’t help but let her eyes wander over Ryan, sizing him up from head to toe.

Her eyes wandered over his face, that sharp jawline, his Adam’s apple, his chest, and… some special part.

She really was craving him.

Nina cleared her throat, kicked the back of his seat, and said, “Just drive.”

As the light turned green, Ryan started the car again, a grin tugging at his lips that he just couldn’t hide.

‘No way I can’t get Nina to fall for me, Ryan thought.

He hadn’t forgotten that Nina only got with him in the first place because she was totally into his looks and physique. Not to mention his sex skills.

Even though it was his first time, Nina really enjoyed it.

Ryan just kept driving and driving, and Nina had no idea where he was headed, so she simply shut her eyes and dozed off in the back seat.

She’d been up at the crack of dawn and spent half the day hustling around the Gemstone Exchange, so she was dead tired.

An hour later, Ryan finally pulled up at a villa way out in the suburbs. This was Ryan’s private villa.

Aside from crashing at Scarlet’s place, Nina had spent most of her nights living here with Ryan. But since she broke things off with him, she hadn’t set foot here, not even once.

Maybe she was just too wiped out, or maybe it was because even after they broke up, Ryan was still someone Nina trusted. Either way, when the car finally stopped, she hadn’t woken up ye

Ryan opened the car door, ready to scoop Nina up and carry her out.

But right then, Nina’s eyes snapped open. Ryan was caught off guard, his hand slipped, and he ended up landing right on top of her. Before she could react, his lips directly met hers.

Nina was totally stunned.

‘Damn it,’ Nina cursed to herself.

That familiar rush she hadn’t felt in ages came flooding back.
