She was worried that if they stayed, Nina’s temper might actually get physical. With so many guests here, if Nina hit her own mom in front of everyone, it would definitely hurt her reputation.

“I…” Vivian tried to say something, but James cut her off with a frown.

“Shut up! Say one more word and get out of here,” he snapped.

James couldn’t stand the sight of Vivian.

Just as Vivian was about to say something back, Lily tugged at her sleeve.

Waverly’s eyes narrowed, but she forced a smile. She said, “You must be Nina, right? You really are pretty. Why don’t you go ahead and get in the car? I want to talk to your grandma for a bit.”

Nina looked up, but she didn’t move a muscle.

Waverly frowned and demanded, “What’s wrong with you, kid? Can’t you hear me?”

Vivian hurried over and said, “Nina, come on, move out of the way. This is your aunt Waverly.”

As she spoke, Vivian tried to drag Nina aside.

But Nina just shot a cold look at Vivian’s hand and said coldly, “Let go.”

Vivian face twisted, then she leaned in and whispered in Nina’s ear, “I’m warning you, don’t make trouble. Waverly’s husband is a big shot in Betrico. Even the Fosters have to show their family respect. If you cross your aunt, you’ll be in for it.”

Most importantly, Vivian still needed a favor from Waverly.

So, of course, she had to take Waverly’s side right now.

Waverly smirked and sneered, “Or is Nina the one calling the shots around here now?”

Waverly looked up at Nina and said, “When I first heard the rumors, I didn’t buy it. But now I see you really do have some tricks up your sleeve. So, what kind of scheme are you and that nightclub woman cooking up?

“You think just because you’ve got Grandma wrapped around your finger, you can take control of the Swanson family? You’re seriously overestimating yourself.

“As long as I’m here, you’ll never see a dime of the Swanson family’s money.”
