Chapter 143
Chapter 143
Nina found out about this whole thing from Anna.
She asked Anna to fill her in on everything that’s gone down in the Swanson family these past years.

Anna was Sarah’s right-hand woman, and she knew Nina was devoted to Sarah, so she spilled everything, down to the tiniest detail.
Ever since Nina came back to the Swanson family, she’d been waiting for Waverly to show up.
She was going to settle the score for everything Waverly had done to her back then.
The car soon pulled up in front of the biggest and most luxurious hotel in Riverdale: Grand Crest Hotel.
The Swansons stood in front of the hotel, all of them stunned once again.
Someone finally spoke up, “The Grand Crest Hotel? That place is strictly members-only. You have to spend at least 300 thousand just to qualify for a basic membership and eat in the main hall.
“Premium members need to shell out 2 million, and don’t even get me started on diamond members. It’s a minimum of 3 million.”
Another said, “Sure, Sarah’s birthday party is supposed to be the Swanson family’s biggest event, but isn’t this way too much? Even if we’re rich, we can’t just blow 3 million on a single party, can we?”
Someone said, “It’s not just about the cash. If we don’t have a membership, we can’t even get through the door. And even if we do, regular members are stuck eating in the main hall.
“What, are we really going to cram everyone in there and throw Sarah’s birthday party out in the lobby?”
The Swansons looked uneasy.
The Swanson family didn’t have a membership at the Grand Crest Hotel.
Forget diamond membership, they didn’t even have a basic one.
The Swansons might seem glamorous, but a lot of it was just for show. They were always trying to look richer than they really were.
At the Grand Crest Hotel, a basic membership required spending at least 300 thousand, not just on food. That included venue, entertainment, and everything else.
The Swansons had only budgeted 160 thousand tops for Sarah’s birthday party.
But Nina just went and set it up at the Grand Crest Hotel.
Forget about the money for a second; the real issue was that they didn’t even have a membership. There was no way they were getting inside.
The Swansons thought, ‘Did Nina really drag all of us here just to embarrass us?
Vivian finally exploded, unable to hold back anymore. She snapped, “Nina, have you lost it? Do you even realize where we are, and you just drag us here? The birthday party’s about to start.
“Guests are arriving, and you want us all to stand out here and embarrass ourselves?”
Nina gave Vivian a cold, indifferent look.

Chapter 143
Vivian felt an involuntary shiver run through her as soon as she caught Nina’s gaze.
Vivian thought, ‘What’s with this brat? Why is she looking at me like that?
Is she about to get physical again?’

Seeing that Nina was about to snap, Lily quickly chimed in, “Mom, don’t be so harsh. Nina’s just trying to do something nice for Grandma. She’s never thrown a birthday party before.
“Maybe she just heard somewhere that Grand Crest Hotel is the top spot in Riverdale and didn’t really think it through before bringing us here.
“I’ve already booked another hotel. There’s still time. If we hurry and let the guests know, we can still save face.”
“Now that’s what I call having some sense. Unlike certain people,” Vivian said, puffing up her chest with pride.
She thought, ‘See? Told you so.
‘Why don’t you open your eyes, old hag, and see who’s actually got some sense?’
Sarah was so pissed off, about to say something, when suddenly a whole group of people walked out of the hotel.
Front and center was the manager, Raymond, from the Grand Crest Hotel, looking sharp in his suit.
He went straight up to Nina, all respectful. He said, “Ms. Swanson, so sorry for the delay. I was just checking with your chef about the serving schedule. Please, come on in. The penthouse party hall has been waiting for you.”
