The next morning, Nina ran into Lily and Martin just as they we heading out to SN Corporation.

Nina was wearing a red dress with her hair down. The clean line showed off her figure perfectly, giving her a graceful look with a hint of sensuality.

Lily’s eyes dropped to the dress, and a flash of jealousy crossed er face.

It was a Lanelle piece. When Lanelle had posted the sketch online, she’d written, [For my bestie only.]

People had gone crazy with envy, complaining about why they weren’t lucky enough to have a friend like Lanelle.

Yet the one wearing that exclusive, not-for-sale dress was Nina.

Every time Lily remembered Lanelle saying all of Nina’s clothes were custom-made for her, something twisted in her chest.

She couldn’t understand why Nina was so lucky that she could be friends with Lanelle.

She couldn’t understand what Lanelle saw in a girl raised by a nightclub hostess. After all, Lanelle was a rich heiress and a talented designer.

Martin had also noticed the dress. His expression darkened. “We get it. You’re close with Lanelle. You don’t have to show off like this.”

He was worried Lily would lose face.

Nina shot him a look and walked toward him. Martin instinctively stepped back. “What are you doing?”

Nina let out a soft, mocking laugh. “You think a coward like you can lecture me? Martin, come back when you’re brave enough to stand your ground.”

She didn’t spare him another glance and walked away.

Martin seethed, jaw tight with anger.

He truly hated Nina. If she stayed in this house, he’d lose his mind sooner or later. He had to find a way to drive her out of the Swanson family.

Lily was furious too, but she knew it wasn’t the time to show it. She said to Martin, “Let’s go. The president of SN Corporation is meeting us today. We can’t be late.”

Neither of them had expected this. After only one night, the president’s assistant had called, saying the president wanted to meet them in person.

Lily had been so excited she couldn’t sleep at all.

To impress the president, she spent the entire night working through plan after plan until she finally came up felt confident about.

But he didn’t dare ask Brian. This meeting with the president of N Corporation was a rare opportunity. Neither he nor Lily knew if the president was deliberately testing them, so they couldn’t take the risk of asking.

Lily hesitated, then said, “Okay. Let’s sit for ten minutes. I really an’t stand any longer.”

She knew it wasn’t appropriate to sit before the president arrive but she was at her limit.

After all, they had already waited more than two hours. They figured the president wouldn’t be there within ten minutes

Martin nodded and let Lily sit on one of the guest chairs across om the president’s desk.
