But barely a minute after she sat down, the office door suddenly swung open.

Lily jumped in fright. She scrambled to her feet, but in her hurry, she twisted her ankle. Pain shot through her, and tears welled up in her eyes.
Then she saw who it was. She froze, unable to even pretend, and gasped, “Nina, what are you doing here?”
Martin also froze for a moment, then shouted angrily, “Who told you to come here? Get out, now!”
Nina glanced at him without expression and then sat down directly across from him, in the president’s designated chair.
Martin’s eyes widened, and rage boiled over. “Nina, are you out of your mind? That’s the president’s chair. If you want to play with fire, that’s your business. But don’t ruin this for us!”
Lily, equally frustrated, said, “Do you even know how rare this meeting with the president is? Our whole family’s hopes are riding on this project. Nina, even if you have some grudge against me, you can’t joke around with the fate of the entire family.”
She took a deep breath. “The president of SN Corporation is coming any minute. Get out now before you ruin things.”
Nina leaned lazily against the chair, casually surveying them with a faintly amused look. Before she could even speak, Martin bellowed, “We told you to get out. Do you hear me? Nina, if you mess up this collaboration, I will never forgive you!”
Nina crossed her arms, a sly smile tugging at her lips. “So tell me, what are you going to do with me?”
Originally, she had no intention of taunting Martin and Lily today. Her real purpose for coming to the company was to reclaim Ryan’s shares and terminate their business partnership.
Since their breakup, Ryan was dead to Nina. She wanted both him and herself to vanish completely from each other’s worlds, so she planned to cut ties cleanly.
However, ending things with Ryan wasn’t that simple.
SN Corporation had been co-founded by Nina and Ryan. Nina had contributed seventy percent of the funds, while Ryan held thirty percent. She had one hundred percent of the decision-making power in the group, while he had only to follow orders.
Since she and Ryan were now over, she needed to take back the shares in his hands. That was her real reason for coming today.
As for the Swanson family collaboration, she had already instructed Brian to draft the contract last night. She had originally intended to deliver it straight to Sarah today, but then she remembered that Lily seemed very confident about her proposal.
A playful thought suddenly struck her. Vivian prized Lily so highly and boasted about raising geniuses. Nina was curious to see exactly how brilliant this so-called genius really was.
“You…” Martin fumed, but he knew there was nothing he could do.
Nina had Sarah’s backing and Ryan as a powerful fiancé. Even if she really did mess up this collaboration, she wouldn’t necessarily be kicked out of the Swanson family.
But he couldn’t take that risk. James was already disappointed in him. He needed this collaboration to secure his position in the company.
Thinking this, Martin took a deep breath and forced himself to speak calmly. “Could you please just leave? This opportunity is really important to me. I’m begging you, please don’t mess things up.”

“Yes, just go!” Martin practically yelled. He kept glancing toward the office door like a man on the verge of madness, afraid the president might suddenly walk in.
Nina smiled. “Fine, I’ll go.”
Martin didn’t expect her to be so easy to persuade. He froze for a moment.
But halfway out the door, Nina stopped abruptly and added, “Martin, even with an IQ of 180, you’re still an idiot.”
