Camden wasn’t planning to retire anytime soon, but Nina made him call it quits early for his own good. His health just couldn’t keep up.
These past few years, she’d been helping Camden stay healthy, always looking out for him.
As for the research institute…Nina didn’t want to hang around there forever, so she helped Camden bring in a bunch of students. All of them are absolute prodigies.
That way,
she could do her own thing, totally carefree.
If it weren’t for that, Camden would’ve hauled her off to the institute without a second thought.
Half an hour later, Nina finished cooking.
It was a simple spread, just four dishes.
Camden and Deborah have small appetites, and Camden had always been against wasting food, so Nina didn’t make too much.
Once the food was served, Camden immediately grabbed a piece of fish, beaming. “This is exactly the taste I’ve been craving.”
Camden thought, ‘Man, I’ve been missing this taste for so long.
‘Thought I’d have to wait forever to get another bite of this.
Deborah smiled. “Nina always knows what you want. She knew you were craving this, so here she is today. Let me grab some wine. You two can enjoy a drink together.”
Nina was fine with it. Camden’s health had gotten a lot better lately, so a little drink wouldn’t do any harm.
Deborah brought over the wine, and Nina raised her glass. “Here’s to you, Camden.”
Camden paused, eyeing Nina with suspicion. “What are you up to now, you brat?”
Camden thought, ‘She’d always been straightforward with me.
‘She’d never acted this respectfully around me before.
Nina replied, totally unfazed, “Come on, what bad thing? It’s actually something good!”
Camden downed his drink and gave a skeptical snort. “Oh yeah? Let’s hear it, what’s this ‘good thing’ you’re talking about?”
Nina pointed at Luna sitting beside her and said, “I’ve got a student for you.”

Camden looked momentarily stunned, then turned his gaze to Luna.

Luna was in the middle of eating when Nina suddenly mentioned her. She froze mid-bite, mouth hanging open, completely speechless for a long moment.
Luna thought, ‘What? What?
‘Did I hear that right?
‘Nina is actually trying to get Camden to take me as his student?
‘Is this real, or am I just dreaming?’
“Isn’t she still in high school?” Camden muttered, sounding a little unsure.
“She is starting her senior year,” Nina replied.
Camden looked like he was about to blow a fuse. “She hasn’t even finished high school yet, and you want me to take her as my student? Are you trying to drive me crazy, or do you want me to drop dead from stress?”
Luna’s face went beet red.
‘Camden is totally rejecting me. What do I do now?’ Luna thought.
Nina said calmly, “When you pulled me out of school back then, I was only a first-year.”
“That’s totally different!” Camden huffed. “You were a genius, and you passed the official test. I only bent the rules for you because you were special.”
“We’re both from the same family, so it’s the same thing,” Nina replied.
Camden was left speechless.
‘What a ridiculous excuse, he thought.
Deborah jumped in with a warm smile, trying to lighten the mood. “Nina hasn’t introduced you to a student
ages.
If she is recommending this one, she must be something special.

“Besides, you’re always saying you’re bored at home. Why not teach this kid? She looks pretty promising to me.”
Camden and Deborah had a strong bond, so he never argued with her.
Camden gave Luna a quick once-over, hesitated for a moment, then finally said, “Alright, since Nina is the one recommending you, I’ll let you study with me.”
Luna was so dazed by this sudden stroke of luck that she could barely process what was happening. She immediately bowed and said, “Thank you, Camden.”
Camden was left speechless.

‘Is this kid a bit reckless or what?’ he thought.

Camden cleared his throat and said, “Let me be real with you. I have zero tolerance for stupidity. If you turn out to be hopelessly dumb, just pack up and go home, I’m not kidding. Sure, you’re Nina’s family, but you’re nothing like her.
“That girl is a monster. She snagged double Ph.D. degrees from Betrico University at sixteen, and never once made me worry. I’m not saying you have to be as legendary as Nina, but at least don’t embarrass me by being an idiot.”
