Chapter 310

Hazel and Nina didn’t go far. They waited just outside the VIP room.

The noise from the nightclub was so loud that it almost drowned out the sounds coming from inside the

room.

But Hazel could still hear the screams echoing from within.

The weight that had been pressing on her chest for so long finally lifted.

All the grievances she had suffered at the Campbell family over the years seemed to vanish into thin air.

Time dragged on, second by second.

Hazel had no idea how long she’d been waiting. All she knew was that waves of people came and went inside the nightclub.

It wasn’t until the crowd finally started to thin out that she glanced at her phone and found it was already

three a.m.

Five hours had passed. She was surprised she wasn’t even tired after all that time.

Hazel tilted her head, straining to catch any sound from inside the room. The noises were barely audible now. Theodore must’ve used up every last bit of strength.

Just as Hazel was hesitating, wondering if she should ask Joanna to leave, the door opened.

Joanna stepped out, casually brushing a stray lock of hair behind her ear. Her voice was cool and detached as she said, “Let’s go. We’re heading home.”

Hazel instinctively tried to glance inside, but Joanna blocked her view. “Nothing worth seeing in there. Just gross.”

Hazel dropped her gaze and meekly followed Joanna out.

Nina peeked inside through the door crack, then quickly looked away and followed Joanna and Hazel out.

Nina helped Joanna and Hazel into the car and had someone drive them home to the Swanson residence.

She didn’t go with them, though. Instead, she called Simon and made her way to see Luna.

The car soon pulled up not far from the house.

Nina pushed open the door and got out, telling Simon, “Wait here.”

Then, she slipped quietly into the house in the dark.

The villa had an electronic lock and high walls. Most people wouldn’t be able to get in. But Nina wasn’t most people.

With a few agile leaps, she slipped right into the villa.

She hadn’t been to this side of the estate since coming back, so she had no clue which room Luna was staying

So, she scaled the outer wall, peering into each window as she went.

Luna’s room was near the garden, so Nina spotted it pretty easily. But the window was nailed shut.

Nina furrowed her brows, remembering how Luna once mentioned a cat that jumped onto her window in the middle of the night, and how she’d even climbed out the window to rescue it.

That meant her window hadn’t been sealed. But now, it was nailed shut.

No way she was getting in through there. Just as Nina was about to try another way in, a wary voice suddenly called out from inside, “Who’s there? Who’s outside?”

Nina held her breath, listening for any other sounds. Once she was sure Luna was alone, she finally spoke up, “It’s me, Nina.”

Luna froze for a second and then hurried over to the window.

“Just tell me where I can get in,” Nina cut to the chase because her arms were killing her from hanging onto this wall.

“The study,” Luna blurted out. “The window’s around the corner. The door’s unlocked, and you can just open it. My room is diagonally across from the study.”

Luna paused, her voice tinged with worry. “But my mom locked my door. You can’t get in without a key.”

“Alright, I got it,” Nina said.

With a few quick moves, she slipped into the study. She opened the study door and found Luna’s room as Luna said.

At this hour, everyone was fast asleep, so no one noticed Nina slipping in.

When she reached Luna’s door, Nina pulled a silver needle from her hair and picked the lock with ease.

Luna stared at Nina in utter shock.

‘Did Nina just pick my lock with a freaking silver needle?’ Luna thought, her jaw practically hitting the floor. ‘Is she for real? That’s insane!’

Luna was still reeling from shock when she suddenly remembered what mattered most. She grabbed Nina’s hand. “Nina, get me out of here! I have something important to tell you!”

Nina nodded. “Just stick close to me.” With that, she turned and headed out.

Luna had barely made it halfway when she suddenly stopped. “Wait, I need to grab something.”

Nina frowned. “Is it important?”

Luna said, “Yeah, it’s really important.”

Nina glanced outside, checking for any movement. “Hurry up.”

Luna dashed back into her room, grabbed the file folder, and hurried after Nina.

They had just made it downstairs when they ran into a maid who was up to use the bathroom.

The maid froze when she saw Nina and Luna. Then, the maid suddenly snapped out of it and shouted, “Ms. Swanson left-*

She didn’t get the chance to finish before Nina shut her up.

Nina yanked Luna’s hand. “Let’s go.”

But just as they took a few steps, all the lights in the villa suddenly snapped on.

Bodyguards burst out, blocking their escape.

Then Linda, in her pajamas, came running out and shouted, “Nina, where are you taking Luna?”
