Nina tucked the notebook away and turned to Simon. “Get som people to destroy Scarlet’s courtyard.”

Simon stared at her in shock. “Destroy it? That’s the place Scarlet’s lived in her whole life. If you wreck it, she’s gonna blow up.”

“Blow up?” Nina let out a cold laugh. “She can blow up when she gets back.”

‘She left me with this mess, Nina thought. ‘Honestly, I’m already being nice by not calling her out for all this. She never bothered to tell me anything. She just left me guessing about everything.

‘If I am not at least a little smart, I’d never have figured it out, not in a million years.’

Simon hunched his shoulders, keeping quiet. He didn’t know if #carlet would blow up, but Nina looked ready to. “I’ll get someone to tear the place down tomorrow.”

After a pause, Simon added, “Oh, and Waverly’s already been to the casino. She’s lost 150 million.”

Ever since Nina brought Waverly back to the Swanson residence she’d been trying to sneak back to Betrico every single day.

She was terrified Nina would come after her for payback. But every time, Max would catch her in the act. Then Max would call Nina over.

“Only 150 million?” Nina said coolly. “You’ve been having it a little too easy lately, huh?”

Simon shrugged. “150 million’s as quick as we could manage. Can’t make it too obvious. We can’t make Waverly catch on, so we gotta let her win a little sometimes.”

They had to keep Waverly hooked, so they couldn’t let her lose right off the bat.

So, for the first couple of days at the casino, Waverly was pocketing 6 to 9 million a day.

After that, she was just snagging a few million each day.

But soon enough, Waverly got tired of the small stakes and started raising her bets. That’s when she walked right into their

“Let her win big today. Make it 300 million,” Nina said coolly.

“What?” Simon was stunned. “That much? What if she cashes out and quits?”

“She won’t,” Nina replied, glancing out the window. “With 300 million in her hands, she’ll just up the ante and bet even bigger. Tomorrow, make sure we get all that money back. I need it.”

She was about to start working on the formula, and she needed a ton of materials. All of it cost money.

“Got it,” Simon replied.

Then something popped into Simon’s head. “Oh, by the way, the Chase family found out Waverly made off with the cash. Now they’re heading to Riverdale.”

“Let them come,” Nina said, not even bothering to care.

She’d met Waverly’s husband before. He’s not bad, but he just wasn’t bright enough, and Waverly totally outsmarted him. Gianna cared a lot about the Chase family’s reputation, so she decided he should marry Waverly to keep their name clean. But the truth was, he already had someone he liked.
