337 Chapter 337

337.Chapter 337

In Riverdale, the casino manager pushed open the office door.

Someone said, “Simon, she’s here.”

Simon was in the middle of a video call with his girlfriend. Hearing this, he said, “I’ve got something to take care of. You go to bed.”

After hanging up, Simon stepped out of the office and stood at the top of the stairs, looking down.

From here, he could see everything going on below.

Waverly had just arrived, scoping out the place and clearly not ready to make her move yet.

Simon grinned to himself. He’d laid the trap for her yesterday, but she hadn’t taken the bait.

He’d thought she’d finally wised up, but turned out her smarts didn’t even last past one night.

Simon shot a glance at the manager. He said, “Stick to the plan and keep your eyes open. Don’t let her notice anything off.” “Don’t worry, Simon. The guys we brought in are top-notch, she won’t suspect a thing,” the man answered.

Simon nodded.

After the manager left, Simon shot Nina a quick message, then Headed back into his office, poured himself a glass of red wine, and settled in front of the monitors to keep an eye on Waverly.

The casino staff didn’t call Waverly over; instead, they set up a private table just for her.

All the familiar faces from her past were there.

These past few days, Waverly had been gambling with this same group.

When Waverly spotted her old friends, she flashed a smile and called out, “What’s this? Playing cards without me?” One of the guys, wearing glasses, said, “Come on, we just figured you’d been losing so much lately, we didn’t want you to go broke.”

“Are you looking down on me?” Waverly said, a bit annoyed. “It’s just pocket change.”

A chubby guy, holding a cigar, laughed out loud. He said, “You’ve already lost 150 million. You still got money left?”

“150 million? No big deal,” Waverly replied, her tone full of arrogance.

She still had 600 million to play with; losing 150 million was barely a scratch.

With 450 million left, she was sure she could claw her way back!

The guys shot each other a look. One of them asked, “Wanna play a few hands?”

“Let’s do it,” Waverly said without hesitation, sliding into her sea

Once the game began, Waverly hit it big on her very first hand, pocketing 15 million.

Her face lit up with a huge grin. She said, “Looks like luck’s on my side today!”

She boasted about losing 150 million being no big deal, but the ruth was, she’d embezzled 3 billion from the Chase family. If she didn’t pay it back soon, she was in deep trouble.

That’s why, after losing 150 million, she’d been too scared to come back.

She was terrified of blowing through the 450 million she still had left.

But today, lying in bed, the more she thought about it, the more resentful she felt.

That was 150 million, for crying out loud.

Losing that much just like that really stung; Waverly couldn’t get over it.

Not wanting anyone to notice, she waited until everyone at hom was asleep before slipping out.

And to her surprise, she won 1.5 million on her very first hand.

Guess her gut was right; today was her day to win big.

“Keep it coming. Deal me in,” Waverly called out, her voice bubbling with excitement.

Waverly was on a roll and practically bouncing in!

Over the next dozen hands, Waverly racked up

The guys she was playing with looked seriously pissed off.

The guy with glasses slammed his cards down. He said, “Fuck this, I’m out.”

He started to get up and leave, but Waverly quickly stepped in front of him. She said, “Hey, don’t go. We’ve barely played a

dozen hands. Let’s go all night.”

*Screw this. I’ve lost 24 million, the most out of everyone. If you wanna keep playing, go ahead, but I’m done,” the guy snapped.

Waverly was pissed. She said, ‘Just a few days ago, I dropped 150 million playing with you guys. Now I finally win a bit, and you’re bailing? What, can’t take the heat?”

“Who the hell are you calling can’t take the heat?” the chubby guy shot back. “Gary, sit down and play with her all night. I don’t buy that she can keep winning forever.”

Gary, the guy with glasses, hesitated for a moment and then said. “Alright.”

The bets kept getting bigger and bigger as the night went on.

By the time it was almost 4 AM, Waverly was already up 300 million.

The guys at the table left, muttering curses under their breath. Waverly called after them, but no matter what she said, none of them were willing to play another hand.

Waverly was the only one beaming. She thought, Today’s definitely a good omen.
