Ethan remembered that one year, during an interview, Elaine had said, “The kind of partner I want is someone like my dad, someone who can love with all his heart.”

Elaine really did look up to her father as her idol. Even though owen never liked Elaine when she was living with the Sinclair family, Elaine still felt this was a happy home.

But now, Eamon’s cheating felt like a needle constantly pricking at her.

Nina shot a glance at Elaine through the rearview mirror.

“Here, I just found something,” Nina said, keeping one hand on the wheel as she tossed her phone to Elaine in the back seat.

Elaine glanced at the info and frowned. “Hold on, this woman was classmates with Clara?”

The woman in the report was the one Dad cheated with. Her name was Maggie Wallace.

Maggie started working for the Sinclair family right after graduation, and eventually became Eamon’s secretary.

She was gorgeous and had a killer figure. Tons of guys were after her. But Eamon never even gave her a second glance.

And yet, just recently, they ended up in bed together, and Isolde caught them.

“Keep reading,” Nina said.

Elaine kept scrolling, her face darkening. “Are you kidding me? She’s actually hooking up with my uncle?”

Elaine gripped the phone so tightly that her knuckles turned pale, her eyes flashing with a cold, dangerous light she couldn’t

hide.

“Your dad’s been running the Sinclair family for years. He’s not stupid,” Nina said. “He knows tons of women have tried to get with him, right? So how come none of them ever managed to pull it off, but this one actually did?”

Nina had dropped by the Sinclair residence a few times. She wouldn’t claim to be some kind of people–reading expert, but Eamon was on her short list of genuinely decent men.

She’d seen firsthand how much Eamon adored Isolde, so when maine called saying he’d cheated, the first thing that popped into her head was that someone must’ve set him up.

But Elaine wasn’t buying it. Her dad was her hero, and now he’d heated. That was just too much to take in. She couldn’t even process it right now.

“My dad was framed,” Elaine finally blurted out, snapping back to reality.
