In the evening, Nina, Ethan, and Elaine arrived at the Swanson residence.
Nina had hurried out that morning, and the Swansons all knew than was in trouble. Now, the whole family was waiting anxiously for news.
“They’re back! Nina and Ethan are back!” Laura called out as soon as she saw Nina walk in, hurrying to let everyone know.
Sarah let out a sigh of relief. She stood up and went to greet them.
Seeing Ethan safe and sound, Sarah scolded him gently, “Why didn’t you tell us where you were going? You had us worried sick.”
Ethan looked a little embarrassed. “Sorry, Grandma.”
“As long as you’re safe, that’s all that matters,” Sarah said, finally letting out a sigh of relief after a day of worry.
When Sarah saw Elaine, she looked surprised for a moment. “Elaine, you came, too?”
Elaine smiled, “Hi, Sarah.”
Sarah grinned, “Great, stay a few more days this time, keep this old lady company, and have some fun with me.”
Sarah didn’t notice that Elaine’s tone had grown more affectionate.
Elaine slipped her arm through Sarah’s and smiled, “I’m planning to stay for good this time, Sarah. Will you have me?”
“Of course! You can stay as long as you want, even for a lifetime if you like!” Sarah beamed. “You’re Nina’s friend, and to me, you’re like a granddaughter. As long as you want to be here, there will always be a room for you.”
“Then it’s settled. I’m staying here forever,” Elaine said, grinning
“What?” Sarah was stunned. “You really mean it? You’re actually planning to stay here for life?”
It wasn’t that Sarah didn’t want Elaine to stay. She was just worried the Sinclair family might not be okay with it.
Elaine flashed a sly smile, poured a cup of coffee, and bowed before Sarah. “Sarah, we got married. I’m one of you now.”
Sarah was totally taken aback. “W–What’s all this about?”
Good thing Nina had been keeping Sarah in good shape every day. Otherwise, it would’ve made Sarah faint for sure.
‘Since when did she become one of us?‘ Sarah thought, completely confused. ‘Wait, with who? Is she talking about one of my grandsons? Hold on, that doesn’t make sense!‘
Sarah knew her grandsons all too well. None of them fit the bill. Someone as brilliant as Elaine would never go for any of them.
‘Could it be Nina?‘ Sarah wondered.
If there was one grandchild who was hands down the best, it had to be Nina. And Elaine and Nina were practically inseparable.
‘Oh my god!‘ Sarah thought, her eyes widening in utter disbelief

Sarah was so flustered that she could barely string a sentence together. After a long pause, she finally smacked her leg and said, “As long as you two are happy, that’s all that matters! I will do my best to accept you and Elaine.”
Nina stared, speechless.
As soon as Sarah said that, the Swansons were stunned speechless. ‘No way. Are Nina and Elaine together? So what about Ryan? Did Nina dump him again?‘ they wondered.

“Nina! Are you out of your mind?” Vivian, who’d been trying to pretend she was invisible, finally couldn’t hold back anymore. “There are so many guys out there. Why on earth would you go for a woman? Have you no shame at all?”
“So what if she likes girls?” Luna shot back, refusing to back down. “Why can’t girls fall in love with each other? Vivian, you really need to stop being so narrow–minded.”
Suddenly, Luna found herself totally shipping Nina and Elaine. Both girls were her absolute favorites. “That’s so sweet, she wondered.
Vivian was so mad, totally at a loss for words,
Before she could spit out a comeback, Linda chimed in with a breezy laugh, “Seriously, Vivian, you need to be more open- minded. Nina’s awesome. Why does she have to settle for a guy?
“There’s no rule saying she has to marry a man. Nina, you’ve got my full support!”
Both Nina and Elaine were stunned. ‘Seriously, what are you guys even talking about?‘ they wondered.
