Nina didn’t answer their questions. She reached into her backpack and handed two daggers to Miranda and Philip.

“Don’t go easy on the enemy,” Nina said. With that, she took off in a flash.

Before Miranda and Philip could even react, they heard a blood–curdling scream.

Then, a man dressed in black came crashing down from the tree

Miranda and Philip were frozen in shock, just standing there, dumbfounded. But the enemy didn’t give them any time to

react.

Just then, a group of people came charging out from the woods.

Every single one of them was dressed in black, wielding a long sword, and they quickly surrounded them.

The leader of the black–clad men started, “Nina-” probably about to launch into some official speech.

But Nina cut him off before he could get a word out. She darted forward like a blade, her movements sharp and deadly.

She was so fast, the enemy barely had time to react. Before they could even blink, two of them were already on the ground.

That was when the black–clad men finally came to their senses and swarmed Nina, charging at her from all sides.

But Nina was an absolute monster in combat. No matter how many of them there were, none could even lay a finger on her.

None of them could figure out how she did it. One careless move and they’d get caught, left completely paralyzed.

“Is this some kind of period drama? Why are they all carrying swords?” Philip asked, dumbfounded, as he watched Nina beat the enemy around like she was just walking a dog.

‘Who even uses swords these days?‘ he wondered.

All Philip could think was, maybe they were filming a period drama or something.

Miranda rolled her eyes at him. “Take a good look. This isn’t some movie set!”

These guys looked like total thugs, nothing like actors at all. And the ones Nina had taken down were bleeding out from their guts.

While Miranda and Philip were still frozen in shock, the black–clad men set their sights on them, and two came right at

them.

“T–They’re coming,” Miranda stammered, her hand trembling around the dagger.

Philip pulled Miranda behind him. “Quick, hide!”

“W–What about you?” Miranda asked, her voice shaking. She’d never faced anything like this before, and she was terrified.

“I.” Vivian tried to protest. Philip was about to speak when a black–clad man suddenly lunged at him with a sword.

“Shit!” Philip blurted out. He shoved Miranda behind him and frantically tried to dodge.

But he couldn’t dodge in time. The sword was about to stab him when, suddenly, a streak zipped through the air and knocked the weapon right out of the black–clad man’s hand.

Philip’s jaw dropped as he stared at Nina, utterly stunned.

Now he could see it clearly. Nina had flicked a needle and sent the sword flying from the enemy’s grip.

‘Oh my god! Can something that small really be that powerful?‘ he wondered, still in disbelief.

“Go for the vital spot!” Nina’s cold voice suddenly cut through the chaos.

Philip snapped out of his daze. Without a second thought, he drove the dagger straight into the enemy’s heart. The black- clad man dropped like a stone.

Just before he hit the ground, the black–clad man shot Philip a lepk of pure shock. He just couldn’t figure out how this weak- looking kid managed to take him out with a single strike.

“I killed him!” Philip said, staring at his blood–covered hands, shaking all over, and barely able to stand.

But before Philip could even be scared, Miranda let out a terrified scream.

The other black–clad man, whose sword had also been knocked away, lunged at Miranda with his bare hands.

Miranda gripped her dagger, stumbling backward as she stabbed at him in a panic.

Miranda had never been in a fight like this before, and she was so terrified that her wild swings didn’t even graze the black- clad man.

Philip didn’t waste a second; he snatched the dagger from the corpse at his feet and went straight for the guy threatening Miranda.

The guy’s back was to Philip, so he couldn’t get to the heart; instead, he went for the throat.

Maybe it was the adrenaline, and Philip was ice–cold in that moment. He went straight for the jugular and took the guy out in one move.

With several of their men dropping dead, the black–clad thugs grew enraged, and their attacks became even more vicious.

But after just a minute, Nina knocked every sword out of their hands with a flurry of moves.
