He just knew that Nina wasn’t here for anything run-of-the-mill. He’d planned to drag things out, but now he realized there was no chance of that.

Nina didn’t hold back. “I want files on everyone in the Goodwin family, Ryan, Scarlet, and even the Nicholson family.”

Wylder’s expression shifted. “Do you have any idea how top-secret those files are? If I hand them over, the higher-ups will come down on me hard.”

He had thought it was merely some important research files. He had convinced himself to hand them over, but he hadn’t expected Nina to want those top-secret materials.

Nina said nothing, merely staring at Wylder in silence.

Wylder could feel his heart racing. He sighed. “Alright, I lost the bet, and I have to pay, but let me make it clear. You can look at these files, but you cannot leak them.”

Two minutes later, Wylder passed those four confidential files to Nina.

Nina walked out without another word. As soon as she stepped out of the Quentin residence, a souped-up black Jeep rolled up right in front of her.

Simon hopped out and opened the door for her.
