Vivian’s gaze grew cold. ‘Rylie’s back!’ she thought.

She instinctively glanced over and saw Rylie step inside, dressed in a blue dress, looking graceful and poised, her arms full of bags.
‘Lawrence really pampered her all these years,’ Vivian thought.
Stella hurried over, her face lighting up. “Why didn’t you let me know you were coming back?”
Vivian caught the difference in her tone right away.
‘Ha!’ Vivian scoffed inwardly.
‘How ridiculous!’ she thought.
She’d never noticed it before, but now it was crystal clear.
Every time she and Rylie came back together, Sarah would welcome them happily, but she always took Rylie’s hand.
Sarah’s gentle laughter was only for Rylie, and all her warmth and concern went to Rylie alone.
Vivian hid the shadow in her eyes with a gentle smile. “Rylie, you’re back. It’s been ages. You look even more gorgeous now.”
Rylie hadn’t expected to run into Vivian when she returned.
They’d always treated each other like sisters.
Rylie gave a shy smile. “It’s all because my husband takes such good care of me. He won’t let me do a thing, just wants m keep my looks,”
Vivian’s face darkened.
‘That bitch!’ Vivian cursed inwardly.
She hadn’t realized before that the husband Rylie mentioned was Lawrence.
She used to genuinely be happy for Rylie, thinking she’d found a man who truly cared for her.
But now, she finally saw through it; Rylie was actually rubbing it in her face.
She was deliberately provoking Vivian, rubbing it in that she’d snatched her man.
Vivian’s lips curled into a subtle smile. “You and Lawrence have been married for over twenty years, yet you’ve never brought him home. Not even for a wedding. He treats you well, but he should’ve at least brought you to meet your family.”
Rylie’s smile stiffened a little. “We’ve just been too busy, and honestly, I don’t care about all those formalities. As long as we truly love each other, that’s all that matters.”
Vivian said coolly, “Sure, love matters, but you still gotta show up right? You two have been married for years, and your family’s never even met him. If someone didn’t know better, they’d think you were just the other woman.”
Stella’s smile vanished in an instant. She turned to Vivian, her face falling. “What kind of nonsense are you spouting?”
Rylie’s smile faltered.
She shot Vivian a venomous glare.

Chapter 435
‘What’s gotten into that bitch today?’ Rylie thought.
Whenever she flaunted her husband before, Vivian would always look jealous.
‘Did she just call me the mistress today?’ she thought.
She couldn’t accept it.
‘Only the unloved one is the real mistress!’ she thought.
She was Lawrence’s official wife.
Unlike Vivian, who was just a pawn in Lawrence’s game.

Vivian let out a soft laugh. “Mom, I’m not just talking nonsense. You barely go out, so you probably haven’t heard how nasty the rumors are.
“People are saying Rylie’s the mistress of some old, ugly dude, and she’s already popped out a few kids for him. They even say, ‘So what if she’s had kids? Illegitimate kids will never be accepted by his family,” she said.
Stella and Rylie’s faces instantly soured, as they’d just swallowed something foul.
Vivian’s smile brightened. “Rylie, I’ve always respected you, but the rumors are getting out of hand. Here’s the deal: I’ve got a month off. Why don’t you bring Lawrence over? Let’s have a family sit-down and clear the air, so people stop gossiping.”
Stella shot Vivian a glare sharp enough to cut. “You’re divorced. What business do you have meeting your brother-in-law? What, your own life’s a mess, so now you’re trying to steal your sister’s marriage?”
‘That deadweight, what the hell is wrong with her today, running her mouth like this?’ Stella cursed inwardly.
‘She actually wants to meet Rylie’s husband now?’ Stella scoffed to herself.
‘Yeah, right.’ she thought.
They’d spent years covering this up, keeping the secret locked down tight; there was no way they’d ever let Vivian catch
of it.
If she ever found out, there’s no way she’d keep doing their dirty work for them.
Vivian’s smile faded. She picked up her cup of tea, took a slow sip, and said coolly, “Getting divorced isn’t a crime, you know. So why shouldn’t I get to meet my brother-in-law?”
Then Vivian switched gears. “Rylie, is your thing with Lawrence really that shady? Is it something you have to keep hidden from everyone?”
