Chapter 443
Chapter 443
Nina returned from the Betrico Zenith Research Institute. It was already five in the afternoon.
She’d spent the whole day at the institute, totally absorbed in he research on the serum, and didn’t even grab a bite. But after all that hard work, she’d finally made a major breakthrough with the serum.
Just a few more tests, and she’d be able to replicate the serum.
But she couldn’t bring herself to feel happy.
Ever since she got to the institute that morning, she’d felt uneasy like something was about to go down
It all had something to do with Ryan.
She even tried calling Black Wolf, but couldn’t get through to him.
Usually, Black Wolf would leave his phone behind whenever he was on a high-risk job.
Nina opened the fridge and grabbed a beer.
It’s been ages since she last had a drink, but today she was just to agitated to care.
She’d barely taken a sip when Simon walked in with a dress.
Simon passed her the dress. “Nina, Ms. Sinclair sent this over for you.”
Nina just gave a quick nod and tried calling Black Wolf again, but no one picked up.
Simon could instantly tell Nina was worried about Ryan. He hesitated, then said, “You set up Black Wolf’s trac yourself. We’ll probably find Ryan soon. Boss, try not to worry too much.”
Nina’s brows knitted, but she stayed silent.
She and Ryan had been together for two years, and she’d never worried about him whenever he went out.
She trusted him.
But this time, she was truly panicked.
Nina set down her beer and grabbed her phone, her fingers flying over the screen.
But the more she worked, the more grim her face became.
Now, not only could she not track Ryan, she couldn’t even get a x on Black Wolf’s location.
Even though Black Wolf didn’t bring his phone, everyone at the base always carried a tracker on missions, so they could be rescued if something went wrong.
But now…
Nina set her laptop aside and stood up, her voice cold as ice. “Get a helicopter ready. I’m heading to Frontierland.”
‘Screw the serum,’ Nina thought.
‘I’m done with this,’ she told herself.
Ryan was one of the few people in this world who’d ever treated her well.

Chapter 443
She couldn’t lie to herself anymore; she loved Ryan.
She only cared about one thing right now. The rest didn’t matter
All she cared about was Ryan making it out alive.

Simon looked startled. “You want to go to Frontierland now? But what about the Newton family’s dinner at eight?”
Before Nina could respond. Simon added, “Besides, it’s a ten-hour flight. If something happens to Ryan… we’ll be too late.”
Nina’s face was deadly serious. “If he dies, I’ll storm hell myself and drag him back!”
With those words, she strode out,
Simon let out a heavy sigh. He knew better than to argue; once Nina set her mind on something, nobody could stop her.
Left with no choice, Simon started making arrangements just as Nina ordered.
Xenith Alliance Base, Frontierland.
Black Wolf was pacing back and forth in the room, his face clouded with worry.
Grey Eagle and Storm were nearby, looking just as troubled.
On the beds across from them, Ryan and Felix were still out cold
A bunch of people in lab coats were working frantically to save them.
Storm glanced at the beds, hesitated, and asked, “Should we call Nina and tell her what’s happening over here?”
“Yeah, we really should. She’s been waiting for my update since yesterday, and I still haven’t gotten back to her,” Black Wolf said, sounding worried.
He reached for his phone.
But then he stopped. “Wait, where’s my phone?”
Storm and Grey Eagle exchanged glances. “Maybe you dropped it?”
Black Wolf frowned, was just about to tell someone to go look for it, when someone in a lab coat came over.
Black Wolf asked in a low voice, “How are they? Can you save them?”
When he and his team got there, Felix was locked in a life-or-death fight with his squad against the enemy.
He was already seriously injured at that point.
