If he screwed this up, it wasn’t just about whether Nina would blame him; he’d never be able to live with himself.

The doctor shook his head. “There’s nothing we can do. Their injuries are way too severe, with multiple fatal wounds. We’ve sealed their life gates with silver needles, so they’re barely hanging on, but beyond that…”

The doctor shook his head. “There’s nothing more we can do. Nina’s the only one who might be able to pull them back now.”

Nina handpicked and personally trained these doctors for the base.

They were the best of the best.

If even they couldn’t save them, there was only one thing left to do: send them back to Betrico.

Black Wolf fell silent for a moment, then said, “Storm, get a helicopter ready. We’re sending both of them back to Betrico.

“Alright,” Storm replied.

Storm hesitated, then said, “Should I just take them myself?”

Black Wolf’s face was cold. “No. We have to stay here. We still have no idea who’s hunting Ryan. If you go with him, they’ll definitely notice. You won’t be able to protect both of them alone

He continued, “We’ll stay behind and create a distraction, so we can sneak them out safely.”

After a moment, Black Wolf turned to the doctors. “You’re going with them. Use the most expensive medicine, whatever it takes. Just make sure Ryan survives until you get him to Nina.”

Nina’s medical skills were legendary; if she got to Ryan, there was no way he wouldn’t pull through.

Just hope nothing goes wrong before they get to Nina.

The doctors had no objections.

Once Black Wolf finished giving orders, he told Storm to get a helicopter ready and get Ryan and Felix out of here.

To keep things under the radar, they used a chopper, Grey Eagle personally owned, not one from the base.

Grey Eagle’s public persona was spotless; no one would ever suspect he was actually Grey Eagle from the Xenith Alliance. When it was time to move, they made their escape through a hidden tunnel beneath the Xenith Alliance Base.

The tunnel led straight to Grey Eagle’s private villa in Frontierland, and from there, they boarded the chopper and flew out.

Once Ryan was out of danger, Black Wolf grabbed Grey Eagle’s one and tried calling Nina.

But Nina didn’t pick up.

So Black Wolf sent Nina a message, updating her on the situation

He returned the phone to Grey Eagle, his face grim. “Ryan came to Frontierland searching for Scarlet. They were hunted, so they found something big. Someone wants them silenced. I’m guessing Scarlet’s still here and who’s after them isn’t local, probably Clusian with serious influence.”

Black Wolf paused for a moment, then said, “Dig into those three Clusian big shots in Frontierland. If you find anything, run it by Nina before you make a move.”

“Got it. I’ll get on it right away,” Grey Eagle replied.
