Grace and Charles exchanged a look.

Grace shot a look at Thomas, then turned to Simon and said, “Let me handle things here.”

Simon nodded and pushed open the operating room door, stepping inside.

As soon as Thomas saw the operating room door swing open, he tried to rush in after Simon, but Patrick stepped up, blade in hand, blocking the entrance with a cold glare.

Grace charged forward, yelling, “Oh, Thomas, you Newtons love to mess with us, but now it’s life or death, and you still want to stir up trouble? I swear, I’ll rip you to shreds!”

Without another word, Grace grabbed Thomas by the hair and started smacking him hard across the face.

Thomas was completely dazed by the assault. When he finally came to, he roared, “What the hell do you think you’re doing?”

“What am I doing? My son’s life is on the line, and we’re all waiting for news from Zaire. And you still want to barge in and drag him away? You want my son to die out here?” Grace snapped, her voice trembling with fury.

“You cold-blooded scumbag, if you try to hurt my son, I’ll go down fighting with you!” she yelled

Right now, Grace was like a market shrew, going off on Thomas with wild slaps and curses.

As she kept smacking him, she yelled for Maria, “Mom! Get over here and help! This little bastard is trying to hurt your grandson! I can’t deal with him myself!”

Maria, clever as ever, immediately figured out what was happening and sprang up, lunging straight at Thomas.

Meanwhile, Simon burst into the operating room just in time to see Nina sidestep a knife attack, twist away, and, without missing a beat, go right back to performing the surgery.

Russell and the others all looked grim.

None of them had expected that the team member who went out to get blood would come back as someone else entirely.

And in the blink of an eye, that person had turned on Nina and launched an attack.

The surgery was at a critical point, and Nina couldn’t afford to stop. She had to keep operating while fending off the attacker at the same time.

But after missing Nina several times, the attacker totally lost it. Furious, he shoved past her and went straight for Zaire with the knife.

Nina’s face turned cold, but before she could do anything, Simon charged in and kicked the guy, knocking him flat on the floor.

Simon asked urgently, “Boss, you okay?”

“Restrain him,” Nina snapped, not wasting words. Because of that idiot’s stunt, she’d messed up a cut.
