As soon as Simon finished speaking, Thomas and his men pulled out their weapons and pointed them right at Simon.

Simon narrowed his eyes and, in a flash, flicked a silver needle. One of the guys next to Thomas suddenly felt a sharp pain in his wrist and dropped his weapon instantly.

Thomas’s face darkened as he glared at Simon. “What did you do?”

Simon replied coolly, “Oh, I picked that up from Nina. It’s called the silver-needle acupoint sealing.”

Simon shot Thomas a lazy glance. “This silver-needle acupoint sealing doesn’t just freeze you in place; it can mess with your mind, too. Feel free to test it out, Mr. Newton.”

Thomas’s face looked downright ugly.

But he didn’t dare test it out.

Even though he’d never met Nina face-to-face, her file had been sitting on his desk for ages.

He knew all about Nina being a Miracle Doctor, who could literally snatch people from death’s door. That silver-needle acupoint sealing was her killer move.

Anyone important who stuck close to Nina had that skill up their sleeve, too.

Thomas frowned. “Wylder!”

Wylder just turned away, completely ignoring Thomas.

Wylder thought to himself, ‘I’m not crazy!

He reflected.

‘With Ryan’s fate still up in the air and Zaire finally back, there was no way Nina was going to let anything happen to him. he considered.

If he tried to go against Nina now, she might just burn his house down. Where would he even go then?’ he thought.

“Thomas must have lost his mind. If he’d just open his eyes and look at all the people guarding the operating room, he’d see that Nina already figured the higher-ups would try to snatch Zaire and made sure to block them off. He scoffed inwardly.

‘Nina looks like she’s ready to risk everything right now.’ he told himself.

‘If Thomas even tries to take Zaire by force, Nina might just go to war with the whole organization.’ he thought.

‘Nina was personally trained by Ruby, and she’s already outshining her mentor. If you push her too far, she could hand the formula straight to the enemy. Then you’d better get ready for all-out war. Wylder sneered.

Wylder flat-out refused to help, and with Simon’s silver-needle acupoint sealing hanging over his head, Thomas was too intimidated to make any reckless moves.

He had no choice but to wait until Nina finished the surgery, the make his move to take Zaire away.

Simon didn’t bother worrying about what everyone else was thinking. Right now, he was turning something over in his mind.

The Foster family had shown up, and so had the big shots from above.

But if the higher-ups tried to take away the only one with news of Ryan, the Foster family wouldn’t stand for it.

If Simon wasn’t here holding the line, the Foster family and Thomas would’ve already been at each other’s throats.
