Thomas took a deep breath. “Fine! You think you’re all that? Let see if you’re still so tough when the higher-ups come down on you.”

With that, Thomas just snorted and stormed off with his crew. I didn’t dare go head-to-head with Nina.

Besides Sophia, there was another young man there, probably about eighteen.

He bore a resemblance to Ryan, so Nina guessed he was probably Ryan’s younger brother.

‘Nina’s actually being nice to Saul?’ Sophia thought. ‘But why is se always so cold to me? She never even gives me the of day, and she even hit me once!

Sophia felt so wronged. Her parents always acted like it was her fault for not being nice to Nina.

‘Seriously, who’s really the one not being nice here?’ Sophia thought.

Saul had spent the whole summer at his grandma’s place in Cloport, and after the break ended, he went straight to school. So by the time Nina came around, he’d never actually met her.

Sophia had called him up and talked all kinds of trash about Nina, saying she had a nasty temper and loved to hit people.

Saul was honestly a little nervous.

He was worried Nina might try to assert her authority as Ryan’s girlfriend and give him a beating, too. But to his surprise, she just greeted him politely.

‘She seems nice enough, Saul thought, a bit thrown off. ‘So why did Sophia say she was such a hothead?’

While Saul was still spacing out, Nina looked at him and said, “So what do you like? Tell me, and I’ll get it for you. Consider it a little something for our first meeting.”
