Lily hung her head, smiffling as she said, “She’s my sister. We got wapped at birth, and she just got found and came back.

“She probably thinks I stole her spot. Since coming home, she’s een targeting me. Just now, she smashed a bottle over my head out of nowhere.”

Lily started crying again. “I really had no other choice, so I called you.”

Just now, Lily had sneaked her call to Alex when Nina wasn’t looking.

None of the girls could touch Nina, but Alex always rolled deep. With his underworld connections, he could summon a small army in minutes.

Now, there were about thirty guys here. Lily couldn’t wait to see how Nina was going to handle this.

“You’ve got a death wish,” Alex growled at Nina.

Everyone knew he had a thing for Lily. Not long ago, when she suddenly got engaged to Ryan, Alex was heartbroken for

ages.

But then the engagement was called off out of nowhere, and Lily never said why. Anyway, ever since the engagement party, she hadn’t reached out to Alex at all.

Today, she finally called for help. He was dying to impress her.

Thinking that, Alex snapped, “Guys, get her. Anyone who dares mess with my woman is about to learn a serious lesson.”

Not far off, Ethan saw things spiraling out of control and rushed toward Nina.

Before he had reached them, his voice cut through the chaos. “Lily, don’t you dare let them touch Nina!”

The moment Lily saw Ethan, she went ghost-white. “E-Ethan…”

‘How is Ethan here? How long has he been watching? Did he see everything? Did he see me hanging out with these bad girls, smoking and drinking?’ Lily thought, panic rising in her chest.

Her mind went blank, like something inside her just shattered.

Stone-faced, Ethan walked up to Nina, positioning himself protectively.

Then he shot Lily a cold look. “Well, well, Lady Genius, you really know how to shock people.”

Lily’s eyes filled with tears, her voice desperate. “No, Ethan, it’s not what you think…”

Ethan cut her off coldly. “Spare me. Save your stories for Mrs. Swanson. I’m not interested.”

Not wanting to bother with Lily, he grabbed Nina with one hand and Hazel with the other. “We’re out,” he said.

Lily was furious. She’d gone through all this trouble to get Alexere to make Nina pay. No way was she letting her walk away.

“Alex…” Lily looked at him, her eyes brimming with tears.

Alex got the message. He stepped in front of Ethan, blocking his path with the steel pipe. “You think you can take them away right in front of me? Think I’m invisible?”

Ethan stopped, yanked Nina behind him, and blocked her with is broad shoulders. He whispered, “Get ready to bolt when

you can.”

Nina glanced up at Ethan, his tall frame a shield. ‘Well, he looks pretty badass right now, she thought.

Ethan had no idea what she was thinking. He squared up to Alex his voice glacial. “I’m leaving with them. Want to be Lily’s attack dog? Fine. But touch Nina, and I’ll break you so bad you won’t remember your own name.”

“Fuck!” Alex spat. “Think you’re tough? I’ve wanted to take you down forever. If it weren’t for Lily, you’d already be done for. Now that you’re asking for it, I’ll send you straight to hell.

“Boys, take him out! Wreck him, break him. Whatever happens, ‘s all on me.”
