Sarah pinched the bridge of her nose, done arguing with James. he shot Lily a cold look and said, “The day Nina came back home, I already warned you. Don’t mess with Nina, and don’t ever think you can take her place”

Lily’s face turned deathly pale. She wanted to explain herself, bi the words just wouldn’t come. She was too ashamed and scared to even try.

Anything she tried to say would just fall apart. Everyone could see right through her.

If Sarah really wanted to dig deeper, she could just check the nightclub’s security cameras, and the whole story would be exposed in seconds.

“Lily, I’ve never once considered you my granddaughter. Whatever’s going on between you and Vivian, don’t expect any favors from me.

“If you want to stay in the Swanson residence, you’d better remember your place. It’s not your job to discipline my family’s kids,” Sarah said, her voice icy.

Sarah shot Lily a frosty glare. “You really had the nerve to round up people and go after Hazel. Who do you think you are?”

Lily slumped to the ground, silent. She just sat there, looking totally defeated. She didn’t even want to say anything anymore.

‘Fine, whatever. In the end, I’d just get kicked out of the Swanson residence anyway, she thought, her heart sinking.

Martin had never seen Lily so crushed before, and it honestly made his heart ache. “Grandma, maybe this is all just a big misunderstanding. I know Lily. She’s not that kind of person.”

Martin paused, then suggested, “Since everyone’s saying Lily went after Hazel, why not just let Hazel tell us herself?”

Martin thought everything Nina and Ryan said was just nonsense, but Hazel was someone he’d actually believe. Hazel was way too meek to ever make up a story. Lying just wasn’t in her nature.

Hazel jumped when her name was called, her whole body tensing up. “I-I.”

Martin’s face darkened. “Stop stammering and say it straight. And I’m warning you. Don’t you dare twist the story or add any drama.” With that, Martin shot Hazel a warning look.

Hazel was so scared she could barely get the words out, but when she saw Nina standing in front of her, she suddenly felt a wave of calm. “It was Lily. She’s always bullying me.

“Ever since Mom and I came back to the Swanson family, she’s ben calling us beggars, saying we just showed up here to beg for scraps.

“Whenever she’s pissed, she’ll drag me out and beat me up just for fun, She says trash like me deserves whatever she dishes

out.

“Today, she dragged me out again, just because I gave Nina a drawing a few days ago. She totally lost it. And yeah, she really was smoking and drinking. It’s all true,” Hazel added, her voice tmbling.

After Hazel finished, she nervously twisted the hem of her shirt, keeping her head down. She didn’t dare look at anyone in the room. Joanna had somehow ended up downstairs, standing the front door, her cheeks wet with tears.

She had no idea her daughter had it so rough at home.

After Hazel finished speaking, Vivian and Martin both stared at ily, eyes wide in shock. They just couldn’t believe what they were hearing. Vivian and Martin just stood there, totally speechless.

After what felt like forever. Martin finally snapped out of it. He swallowed hard, his voice trembling as he asked, “Lily, is what she said true?”

Martin just couldn’t believe it. After all these years of looking out for his little sister, she actually had such a dark side.

‘Beating people up? Smoking and drinking? Is this really the san elegant socialite everyone thought she was?

Is this still the genius girl everyone’s always idolized?’ he though his heart sinking. This is just too much for me to handle, Martin thought, completely thrown.

“Lily, say something.” Vivian was completely stunned. After ever thing I’d done to raise her, how could she turn out like this? Vivian wondered.

She asked, “What is going on here? Is what she said really true? Ld you actually do all that?”

All eyes in the Swanson family turned to Lily, waiting for her to explain herself.
