Chapter 9
Ryan froze.
Suddenly, he grabbed Nina’s hand and pulled her up onto the stage. “Then let’s start.”
Everyone was stunned, unsure of what he was about to do.

Seeing that no one reacted, Ryan frowned slightly and asked colly, “Isn’t this my engagement party? Why are you all just standing there?”
Maria fell silent. It was the first time she had seen Ryan, who normally dismissed everyone, look so desperate.
Ryan’s parents were also silent. Seeing how impatient he was, they had to admit that he should be the one to choose his
fiancée.
Sarah shook her head, thinking, ‘Does he take my granddaughter for granted, as if she’s takeout he can just grab and go?’
The atmosphere became tense. All eyes turned to Lily.
Lily felt exposed under countless gazes, wishing she could disappear on the spot.
Her fiancé not only wanted to break off their engagement but also intended to get engaged to another woman right at her engagement party. Clearly, he didn’t regard her at all.
Tears welled up in Lily’s eyes. She grabbed Vivian’s hand, sobbing, “Mom, what am I supposed to do if Ryan marries Nina? You know I’ve loved him since I was a child.
“I do feel guilty for taking Nina’s place all these years, but Ryan is the one I love the most…”
When Vivian heard that, her heart ached. She wiped the tears from Lily’s face and gently said, “Don’t worry. No one can take what belongs to you.”
Then Vivian stepped forward and scolded sharply, “Nina, have you had enough?
“You and Lily being switched at birth wasn’t her fault. Why are you always targeting Lily? Yesterday you hit her, and today you even try to steal her fiancé. Why is your desire for revenge so extreme?”
At that moment, Nina had just lifted her foot, ready to kick Ryan but Vivian’s words froze her in midair.
After a moment, Nina lowered her foot and looked at Vivian with cold indifference.
Martin glared at Nina, his eyes dark. “I warned you not to cause trouble for Lily. Seems like you didn’t listen at all.
“Nina, don’t think just because your grandmother backs you, I’m powerless against you. This engagement was yours to give up, yet here you are, in front of all these people, trying to steal and make Lily look bad. Don’t blame me for being merciless.”
He kept his expression cold. “I’ll give you two choices. One, you lear things up with Ryan and apologize to Lily. Two, I’ll have someone throw you out of this hall.”
Nina chuckled. She hadn’t heard such a ridiculous threat in a long time.
She lifted her foot, ready to walk toward Martin, but Ryan move first. His steps were slow, deliberate, and his sheer presence forced everyone to instinctively take a step back.
Ryan stopped in front of Martin, spinning the ring Nina had given him between his fingers. His voice was icy. “Are you threatening her?”

Martin looked up, fearless. “Ryan, I don’t care what happened between you and Nina before. Right now, you’re Lily’s fiancé. You need to cut ties with Nina immediately.”
He glanced at Nina. “And yes, I am threatening her. If she keeps entangling herself with you, I’ll personally make sure she’s kicked out of the Swanson family.”
No sooner had Martin finished speaking than Ryan struck. No one saw exactly how, but by the time they realized, Martin’s hand was broken.
Before anyone could process it, Ryan kicked Martin all the way to the hotel entrance.
The force was brutal. Martin spat blood on impact. Gasps filled the hall.
