Her Divorce, His Downfall (Sophia and Damian) novel Chapter 171

Chapter 171 The GreenEyed

Monster

Uncle JulianUncle Julian again!

Had Sophia heard a single word of anything else he’d just said?

He’d been standing there patiently laying out every piece of the puzzle, and all she cared about was that man?

Damian’s gaze sank to Sophia’s slightly swollen lips.

The composure he’d been holding onto evaporated. In its place rose something savage and razoredged.

Don’t tell me you’ve actually fallen for Uncle Julian.

That’s none of your business.Sophia couldn’t be bothered to engage. She walked straight toward the bed. I’m tired. Get out.

Her indifference sent Damian’s mood plunging to arctic depths. He stared at her, unable to hide the bitterness in his voice.

Do I need to remind you that we are still legally married? I have a hundred ways to prove you’re Sophia. The only reason I haven’t used them is because I don’t want to hurt you.

That kiss. The image of Julian kissing her had lodged itself in :38

Damian’s chest like a poisoned thorn, and every time it surfaced, the pain was unbearable.

Jealousy and regret twisted together, threatening to devour him whole.

A fresh wave of acid burned through him, and the wound on his palm split open again. He didn’t even notice.

Damian fought to keep a leash on his rage and spoke in a low, deliberate tone.

I’ll play along with your little game. But you shouldn’t be getting that close to Uncle Julian. And you definitely should not be letting him touch you.

What goes on between Julian and me is none of your business.Sophia watched the pain contort his face and sensed she’d found his weak spot. A taunting smile curled her lips.

Damian, are you jealous?

She paused deliberately, savoring the way his expression darkened by the second, then twisted the knife a little more.

Julian is a thousand times better than you’ll ever be. At least I owe him my life. He protects me. He would never abandon me for someone else. And his kissing? Way better than yours.2/6

She brought up the kiss with Julian on purpose. She wanted to gut him with it. She wanted him to feel even a fraction of the agony she’d endured watching him and Isabelle together.

Her words were a match dropped on kerosene. The jealousy and fury Damian had been smothering ignited in an instant.

I really don’t want to do this. But Sophia, no man on earth can sit here while his wife talks about kissing another man and feel nothing. I can’t promise I’ll hold back.

He closed the distance in two strides, his movement swift as wind, and locked his hand around her wrist.

The comb in Sophia’s hand clattered to the floor.

He moved too fast for her to react. Before she knew it, he had her pinned to the bed, one angular hand gripping her chin and forcing her face up toward his.

He looked down at her slightly swollen lips. He was no stranger to kissing her. He knew her body well enough to know exactly what it took to leave her lips like that, pink and tender and swollen.

Four months.

She spent four whole months with another man while carrying his name as her husband!

The thought of what might have happened between them made him want to kill someone.

His thumb pressed against her lips, tracing them with slow, deliberate force. A bitter smile ghosted across his face.

Do you have any idea that I was standing right there, watching you two kiss? How could you let him touch you?

What business is that of yours?Sophia kicked and thrashed beneath him with everything she had. Damian, are you insane? Let go of me!

She glared up at him, a wildfire blazing behind her eyes, searing through her entire body.

What right did Damian Hall have?

What right did he have to abandon her, to let her die, and then turn around and try to control who she was with?

What right did he have to indulge Isabelle’s cruelty, let her burn alive, and then get jealous over Julian?

Hatred and fury tangled together, nearly shattering what was left of her composure. She wanted nothing more than to rip that hypocritical mask right off his face.

Seeing her thrash harder, Damian pressed his knee into the crook of her legs, pinning them down and locking her in place.
