Her Divorce, His Downfall (Sophia and Damian) novel Chapter 180

Chapter 180 Extract the Blade

The doctor gently pressed around Damian’s wound, his brows knitting tightly into a knot.

Then, he turned to the two men with a grave expression. The dagger went in too deep; it’s right next to the heart. We can’t pull it out recklesslyhe has to go to the OR immediately, we need full hemostasis before we can extract the blade and close

the wound.

At his words, Weston and Lucashearts plummeted straight to

the bottom of their stomachs.

The doctor paid no mind to their grim faces and barked an order to the nurse beside him, Hurry, bring the operating gurney, prep a sterile OR, notify anesthesiology and the blood bank to stand by. Get units of crossmatched blood ready, prepare for emergency resuscitation.

Even as steady as Weston was, the doctor’s serious look had him panicking a little,

Doctor, please, you have to keep Damian safe. Whatever resources you need, just tell us, we’ll coordinate it right away,he said.

Then, walking quickly to Damian’s side, Weston squeezed his hand firmly and soothed him gently. Hold on, Damian. It’s jus

But the tremor of panic in his eyes didn’t slip past Damian’s sharp gaze.

Gritting his teeth, Damian locked his hand around Weston’s palm.

His voice was faint, but still held an unshakable firmness. Don’t worry. I’m not gonna die that easily. If I kick it, doesn’t that just hand everything to Uncle Julian on a silver platter? I haven’t gotten to the point where I can just sit back and watch another man take my wife. Not by a long shot.

Pfft-Lucas couldn’t hold back a laugh. What the hell kind of timing was this? He was over here dying of worry, and Damian was still hung up on who was with his wife?

A little of the panic melted out of his chest. He looked at Damian’s pale face and forced a grin. Don’t you worry. We’ll keep an eye on things. Julian won’t win, I promise.

Damian lifted his gaze to Lucas, his eyes glinting with faint worry. Knowing Lucasimpulsive temper, Damian didn’t want him to cause trouble.

His voice was weak but still firm. Justhold off till I get out. I’ve got important things to tell you

stabbed you? Tell me right now, I’m gonna go skin that bastard alive right this second.

Lucaseyes were bloodshot, his fist slamming into the side table. Rage thrummed through every inch of him, impossible to hold back.

Weston snapped, yanking him back, Lucas, shut the hell up! This isn’t the time for that. Come wait with me by the OR doors, trust the doctors!

With no other choices, Lucas clamped his mouth shut

unhappily, fury still roaring in his chest, leaving him unable to

calm down.

Just then, the doctor and a team of nurses moved Damian onto

the gurney and wheeled him quickly toward the operating room.

Weston and Lucas were held back outside. The corridor was

dead silent, nothing but the sound of their own breathing and the hurried footsteps of nurses.

Every second stretched out endlessly, an agony to endure,

Weston leaned against the window, pulled out a cigarette, and lit it. He took a deep drag and blew out a ring of smoke, the red ember of the tip glinting bright, then dim. However, it couldn’t burn away the restlessness coiled in his chest.

No one gets within a hundred feet of this OR, and this news doesn’t leak out. If Madam Hall finds out, we’ll have a whole

other mess on our hands.

He knew the person who did this had to be someone Damian wanted to protect. If it weren’t, with Damian’s temper, he’d have turned the whole city upside down by now, not gone quiet like this.

Right now, panicking only made things worse. He had to keep his head steady to hold the situation together for Damian.
