Her Divorce, His Downfall (Sophia and Damian) novel Chapter 185

Chapter 185 Don’t Call Me Your Friend

Fury and disbelief exploded across Lucasface as he jumped to his feet, his voice full of exasperation. Damian! Have you lost your mind?

He paced a quick step, his eyes wide with utter

incomprehension. You’ve cheated death twice since she came back. She stabbed you, and you’re still terrified we’ll confront her?

Can you not see she’s clouded your every thought? You got out of the hospital only to end up back here because of her. If we don’t teach her a lesson, do you really think she won’t hurt you again?

Weston’s brow furrowed deeply, too, his stance aligning with Lucasfor once.

He fixed his gaze on Damian, genuine confusion lacing his tone. I know you still love Sophia, but there’s no denying she’s hurt you over and over again.

By forbidding us from going after her, do you expect us to stand by and watch you get hurt time and again? You’re injured now, and if she does something even worse, we won’t be able to stop her in time. The consequences would be unthinkable.

vanished, replaced by quiet, unshakable resolve. My mind is made up. You will not go after her, and you will not meddle in the affairs between us. This is my third order, and the most important one. You have to promise me.

He paused for a breath, then added in a colder, firmer tone, If you refuse, don’t call me your friend ever again. We’re done.

Weston and Lucas froze, shock etching every line of their faces.

Neither could have imagined Damian would choose Sophia over their lifelong friendship.

At that moment, they finally understood that no onenot them, not family, not powermeant a fraction of what Sophia did to

him.

The three had grown up side by side, their families bound by generations of elite alliances, the most feared young heirs in New York who’d long held sway over the city’s upper circles.

Yet now, Damian was willing to sever years of friendship simply because they wouldn’t bow to his demand. How could they possibly accept that?

that, you cast us aside? Damian, this hurts more than I can say.

Weston’s chest ached too at Damian’s ruthless ultimatum.

His voice came out rough and strained. Damian, we can’t promise to let her off without a warning. Protecting you is our duty. But asking us to spare someone who’s tried to kill you multiple times? That’s something we can’t do.

Think backwho stayed by your side when you coded on the operating table and nearly died? You’re hurting yourself for her, throwing your own wellbeing away, and asking us to forgive her. Is it really worth it? You won’t always be lucky enough to cheat death.

Damian fell silent, letting out a long, heavy sigh.

He knew no one could understand him now, that everyone thought he’d gone mad, and he couldn’t blame Weston or Lucas

for it.

But he had no other choice. No matter how much Sophia hurt him, Damian could never bear to see her suffer. He owed her

that much.
