Chapter 192 Business From the Sickbed
“Isabelle?” Weston lifted his gaze, thought for a moment, and tried to soothe him.
“Focus on recovering first and follow the doctor’s orders. We’ll keep an eye on everything outside–Hall family matters, Sophia, all of it. You don’t have to worry about a thing.”
Lucas nodded in agreement, his tone urgent but laced with genuine concern.
“Yeah, Damian. Nothing matters more than you getting better. Heal up properly, and soon we’ll take down everyone who’s been causing trouble behind your back.”
Damian nodded slowly and closed his eyes again. A dull ache still lingered in his chest, but his mind felt far calmer.
After a moment, he forced his weak body to sit up slightly and sent a WhatsApp message to his mother, Catherine, telling her he was staying at the company due to a busy work schedule and would not be coming home.
He had rarely visited the Hall Residence in the past, only returning more frequently recently for dinners after Julian had brought his fiancée home.

Naturally, Catherine did not suspect a thing, assuming he simply wanted to avoid Julian’s fiancée.
She sent a few brief reminders and left him to his own devices.
Once he had informed his mother, Damian called Liam to
handle company affairs, instructing him to closely monitor Vincent of Aurora Tech.
To secure the New York AI Integration Innovation System project Bradley had mentioned, Aurora Tech, with Vincent at its helm as an AI specialist, would be invaluable.
He had also known for a long time that Sophia held a keen
interest in Aurora Tech.
The project was one he could choose to invest in or ignore.
His own Polaris Tech boasted a top–tier AI team in the United States and joint research projects with France’s AI giant Nexus Tech.
Yet with Sophia involved, the venture suddenly felt far more compelling.
Weston watched him barking orders left and right mere hours after waking from surgery and rolled his eyes with a teasing
grin.

computer installed in your chest instead. Even the Grim Reaper would assign you a KPI at this rate.”
Lucas burst out laughing at Weston’s joke, stepped forward, and took Damian’s phone away.
A patient smile softened Lucas‘ expression as he gently eased Damian back onto the bed and tucked the blanket around him.
“Alright, Damian. Do as you’re told. Rest is what you need most right now. Leave everything else to Liam or us. Now sleep.”
Damian raised an eyebrow, a playful glint in his eye. “Well, well. Look who’s being caring all of a sudden. Finally tired of playing around and ready to settle down?”
“Damian, you know I’m still young. I make no promises, and I’m not done having fun,” Lucas replied, a cold bitterness flashing across his features.
He let out a dry laugh. “I’m never getting married, anyway. No one can force me into it.”
The thing between Lucas and Amelia had spread like wildfire. The pure, innocent campus beauty had taken five million dollars from the Hunt family and vanished, turning Lucas into a completely different man. Damian knew every detail.

and too proud to lose face in front of his friends.
Yet, Amelia’s disappearance without a word, before feelings could even be sorted out, was unexpected.
Damian knew that heart–wrenching pain all too well, having lived through it himself.
A serious yet gentle expression settled on Damian’s face as he looked at his friend.
“Enough with the bitter talk. I know you still love Amelia. Once I’m out of here, I’ll help you find her. It’s time you put this ghost
to rest.”
“Damian, I…” Lucas froze, his ears flushing pink at being seen through so easily. He opened his mouth to protest, but Damian had already closed his eyes in exhaustion. “Lucas, I’m tired. You two should head home.”
