Her Divorce, His Downfall (Sophia and Damian) novel Chapter 35

Chapter 35

Sophia forced down her emotions and calmly sipped her milk, acting like they didn’t exist.

Damian glanced at her, then turned to Isabelle. “I’m gonna grab a shower. I’ll eat breakfast with you after.”

Isabelle smiled sweetly, all innocent and adorable.

Sophia finished her meal and stood to leave the dining

room.

Isabelle looked up and spotted the deep red marks on Sophia’s neck.

Jealousy exploded through her like wildfire.

That bitch. Demanding a divorce one second, jumping into bed with him the next. What a hypocrite.

Connor, Damian-they’re mine. Both of them.

  • She refused to live in Sophia’s shadow anymore. Her whole life, all she’d heard was: “Be more like Sophia. Study like Sophia. Be perfect like Sophia.”

attention was finally hers.

She didn’t believe for a second she was worse than Sophia. She’d prove it to everyone.

She’d be better. More successful. The best men in New

York City would be at her feet.

Who the hell did Sophia think she was, acting all high and mighty?

Isabelle strode forward, blocking Sophia’s path, a smirk on her face.

“Sophia, you get it now, right? Who Damian actually cares about? He traded 30% of Polaris and 10% of Zenith Corporation to get me out. That’s real commitment.

“I heard Dad had his bodyguards force you to sign that settlement letter. Made you cough up blood and pass out. Tsk, tsk. Didn’t think Dad loved me that much-forcing you even while you were bleeding out.

. “So what if you’ve been perfect your whole life? You still

can’t keep a man. Me? I just crook my finger and their hearts hearts come running.”

But Isabelle wasn’t done. She shoved Sophia hard,

sneering.

“You’re not sweet. Not cute. You’re just like your dead mom-stubborn as hell. She couldn’t beat my mom, and you can’t beat me. Can’t even keep a man. What good are

you?

“One day, I’m gonna grind you into the dirt-you and that holier-than-thou act. Everything that’s yours? I’m taking

it all.

“Think your mom would crawl out of her grave if she saw what a mess you are? Hahaha!”

Fury blazed through Sophia like wildfire. She’d had enough.

Her hand flew up-

CRACK!’

The crisp sound echoed through the dining room.

“I need a reason to slap you?” Sophia’s eyes were ice.

Her hand rose again-slap, slap, slap-each one harder than the last.

“That’s for disrespecting your elders. For insulting my

mother.

“That’s for being a homewrecker. For wearing it like a badge of honor.

“And that’s for thinking you can drag me down. Dream

  1. You don’t have what it takes.”

Isabelle nearly got her killed. A few slaps? She was getting off easy.

Isabelle’s face swelled like a balloon, but she kept running

her mouth.

“Sophia, I saw you and Connor all cozy on that window ledge last night. Too bad, even if you killed me, Connor still wouldn’t want damaged goods like you. We’re getting married soon. From now on, he’s your brother-in-law.”
