Chapter 65
Damian averted his gaze, and after a long pause, spoke with difficulty:
“If you’re talking about the cyberbullying and the attack-none of that had anything to do with her. It was all my idea. If you want to blame someone, blame me.”
Sophia froze for a moment.
Looking at his eyes that refused to meet hers, listening to him shoulder all the blame while protecting Isabelle with every word –that taut string in her mind that had been stretched for so long finally snapped.
Her eyes instantly reddened at the corners, and she laughed bitterly through her rage.
She laughed at herself for giving him everything these past three years. For actually falling in love with him. For being such an idiot-played for a fool while she helped them destroy her own
life.
Sophia looked at him, her eyes now cold and distant. “How could I dare blame you, Mr. Hall?”
The grip on her wrist had loosened at some point. 1/7

Mr. Hall. Mr. Hall again-not Damian, not Honey.
The formal address dripped with sarcasm.
Damian’s brow furrowed almost imperceptibly, an inexplicable irritation lodging in his chest.
They were married, for God’s sake. They’d shared countless intimate nights.
When had they become such strangers?
He forced down the discomfort and reached into his pocket. When his hand emerged, his fingers held a black card.
Damian grabbed her limp hand and forcefully pressed the card into her palm.
“Five hundred million.” His voice was flat, emotionless. “Consider it compensation for the cyberbullying and the attack you endured these past few days.”
Compensation?
Sophia stared at the black card, finding it utterly laughable.
He’d played her for a complete fool-did he think five hundred million could buy back three years of her pride and dignity?

Tears came without warning, torrential. She only gripped the black card tighter.
The sharp corner cut into her palm, but Sophia felt no pain.
She simply let the warm blood flow between her fingers, saying nothing.
Watching her cry silently, Damian felt his chest tighten.
Instinctively, he raised his hand to wipe away her tears.
But just as his fingertips were about to touch her skin, he froze.
Damian looked away, his voice returning to its usual cold, uncompromising tone.
“Sophia, now that everything’s out in the open, stop blaming Isabelle for any of this. Whatever concerns her, you can come to
me.”
He paused, his gaze locking onto her again.
“Now-can you tell me where she is?”
Sophia lifted her eyes, staring blankly toward the door, and slowly shook her head.
Bley stubborn refusal ignited the fury in Damian’s chest.

Damian’s last shred of patience and warmth vanished instantly, leaving only terrifying ruthlessness.
“I see you really won’t listen to reason.”
He released her and stepped back, his voice deadly. “You forced my hand.”
Damian gestured toward the door.
Several bodyguards filed in quickly, moving with practiced efficiency.
“Bring Mrs. Hall to the abandoned construction site. You know the one-south side.”
“Damian, you-”
Sophia’s shocked cry was cut short as the bodyguards restrained her and covered her mouth.
They carried her out of the hospital room and into a waiting car.
The cluster of abandoned high-rises had been left to rot for years after the developer’s funding dried up.
The skeletal building frames looked menacing, windows black as pitch, with only the cold wind howling through the empty
spaces.

However, the elevators had been installed for transporting construction materials, so they were still functional.
The group took her directly to the tenth floor.
This level had no doors or windows-only exposed steel beams and a dizzying height.
The night wind rushed in unobstructed, whipping clothes and making it hard to stand steady.
Damian stood in the center of the bare concrete space, watching as Sophia was brought before him, his eyes completely devoid of
