Her Divorce, His Downfall (Sophia and Damian) novel Chapter 79

Chapter 79

He froze.

The moment that warmth brushed the corner of his lips, he snapped out of it and turned his head sharply.

“Stella… just hang on a little longer,” he said hoarsely. “Go take a cold shower. It’ll help.”

She missed.

And that only made her angrier.

Unwilling to give up, she cupped his face and tried to kiss him again-only to be pushed away, again and again.

For the past few months, he couldn’t get her out of his head-he could barely eat or sleep.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have left his business in New York just to come all the way to Atlanta… just to see her.

Somewhere along the way, she had already gotten under his skin.

Weston had never been a saint.

How could he not want her? Even in his dreams… she was there,

tangled up with him.

It wasn’t that he didn’t want to touch her-it was that he didn’t trust himself to stop once he did.

And more than anything, he knew this wasn’t what Stella truly wanted.

This was just the drug talking-an uncontrollable reaction, nothing more.

Until he knew how she really felt about him… he wouldn’t touch

her.

After everything that had happened between Sophia and Damian, one thing was clear-

If he took advantage of her like this, she would hate him for life.

Stella’s back hit the cold wall behind her, and she frowned.

When she looked up, she met Weston’s evasive, unsettled gaze.

The burning urgency clouding her mind cooled in an instant, replaced by a rush of humiliation and anger.

Her eyes reddened.

She grabbed the tissue box from the nightstand and hurled it4:21

straight at him.

“Get out!” she snapped, her voice shaking. “Just get out! I never want to see you again!”

“You, Damian… Lucas… you’re all the same!”

The tissue box struck Weston at the corner of his forehead before dropping to the floor with a dull thud.

The spot reddened almost instantly, but he didn’t make a sound.

He just stood there, at a complete loss.

The more Stella thought about it, the angrier she became. Her whole body trembled.

“People like you… you treat other people’s feelings like a game,” she said, her voice shaking.

“You flirt around, play with whoever you want… you make me sick.”

And then-

Sophia’s death suddenly came to mind.

The moment her name surfaced, grief crashed over Stella like a

gaye.

She broke down.

“Sophia… Sophia is dead because of you!”

Her body slid down the wall as she cried, curling in on herself, her emotions spiraling out of control.

“How could you do that to her? How could you?!”

“Murderers… all of you. You’re all murderers.”

She looked up again, her eyes red and swollen-filled with nothing but raw hatred.

“I hate you.”

The disgust in her eyes hit Weston like a blade.

Sharp. Direct. Unforgiving.

It sank deep, leaving his whole body tense with something he couldn’t quite name.

A surge of frustration rose in his chest, hot and suffocating.

He didn’t understand.

He had just saved her.

Just moments ago, she had been clinging to him, trying to kiss him-

And now… this?

Was her prejudice against him really that deep?

Back at Platinum Palace Club, after she had lashed out at him out of nowhere, he had made things clear right then and there.

He was single.

Those girls that night had all been Isabelle’s friends—brought in just to fill the room.

Out of courtesy-and because of Damian-they hadn’t kicked them out right away.

Then Sophia showed up, with Bella and Stella.

And everything spiraled from there.

But the moment Damian said the word, they had all been thrown out.

So why was she still holding onto it?

And as for “playing around”? That accusation was way off.

He had never been interested in any of them.
