Sophia rested her chin on his shoulder, the weight of him pressing down and making it hard to breathe.

She lifted her hand and gently patted his back, her voice soft and hesitant.

“Julian…”

But he didn’t respond. He was lost in his own world, completely

It wasn’t until a small sob escaped her throat that he finally snapped back.

“You’re hurting me,” she whispered.

“Where?”

Julian immediately loosened his hold, guilt flashing across his

face.

“I’m sorry… I just got carried away. I was so happy-I didn’t mean to hurt you.”

His awkward smile, the faint pink creeping across his ears, made Sophia pause.

Meanwhile, back in New York.

Damian had turned the entire city upside down searching for Sophia.

He’d thrown every resource he had into it-the Hall family, the Anderson family, the Heade family, even the Hunt family.

He had people combing through every corner, tearing the city apart piece by piece. And still… nothing.

No tickets. No boarding records. No trace of her crossing any

borders.

She had simply vanished.

The last shred of hope he clung to was slowly crushed by reality.
