Hired a Gigolo Got a Billionaire (Zoey and Christian) novel Chapter 134

Chapter 134

“Sophie is a beautiful name,” Christian said from his hospital bed. “After my grandma.”

“Sophie Kensington,” I murmured from the chair by the window, testing the sound of it. “It does have a certain charm. But what if it’s a boy?”

“Joseph?”

“Joseph Kensington Jr.?” I laughed, picturing a baby with his great-grandfather’s serious face. “Too formal for a kid. What about something more modern? Gabriel? Matt?”

“Matt…” Christian repeated thoughtfully. “I like that. Matt Joseph Kensington. Joseph in the middle, for his great- grandfather.” He smiled softly. “I still can’t believe we’re going to be parents. When I think that I almost lost this … lost you…”

“Don’t think about that,” I said firmly. “We’re here. We’re together. And we’re having our baby. That’s all that matters.”

“You’re right. And we’re going to give our child everything I didn’t get from my parents. Presence, attention, unconditional love…”

“A real family,” I said, my throat tightening as happy tears threatened to spill.

We were so wrapped up in our little bubble of joy that we barely heard the hurried footsteps in the hallway. It wasn’t until the door flew open, slamming against the wall, that reality crashed back in.

“Christian! My God, you scared me half to death!”

Francesca stormed in like a hurricane, her heels clicking sharply against the hospital floor. Without a moment’s hesitation, she threw herself into Christian’s arms, hugging him with a familiarity that made my blood boil.

“Francesca, what-?” Christian started, clearly stunned, but she cut him off.

“How could you not tell me?” she demanded, her tone a mix of outrage and concern. “I had to find out from the news! When I saw you’d been in an accident…”

“How touching,” I interrupted, my voice laced with sarcasm as I stood from my chair. “Really moving to see how much you care.”

Francesca turned to me as if she’d only just realized I was there. Her gaze swept over me, her expression dripping with surprise and disdain.

“Oh,” she said sweetly, her voice full of poison. “You’re still here.”

The words hit me like a slap. The audacity of this woman to barge into my husband’s hospital room, throw herself into his arms, and then act like I was the intruder.

“Step away from my husband,” I said quietly, my voice low but shaking with anger even I didn’t expect.

Francesca raised a perfectly sculpted brow, a mocking smile tugging at her lips.

“And who do you think you are to give me orders?” she shot back. “Christian and I have a history that started long before you came along.”

“A history that’s over,” I countered, taking a step toward her. “Or did you forget he chose to marry me?”

“Please,” Francesca scoffed, a cold laugh escaping her. “You really think you know Christian? That you understand what he likes, what he needs?”

“I know enough to be here as his wife while you’re standing there as… what, exactly?” I crossed my arms, mirroring her posture. “An ex who can’t handle being replaced?”

“Replaced?” Her eyes flashed dangerously. “Sweetheart, you’re nothing but a temporary distraction. A phase that’ll fade once he gets tired of playing house.”

“Funny,” I said with a sugary smile. “For a ‘temporary distraction,’ he seems pretty committed.”

Francesca’s lips parted, ready to strike back, but Christian’s voice cut through the tension like a blade.

“Enough!” he said firmly, making us both freeze. “Francesca, no one told you because you’re no longer part of my life. I don’t even know how you got in here without authorization, but you’re leaving now. And if you don’t, I’ll call security myself.”

Francesca’s face changed in an instant, her mask of concern shattering. What replaced it was pure fury.
