Hired a Gigolo Got a Billionaire (Zoey and Christian) novel Chapter 336

Chapter 336

London welcomed us back with its usual mood-gray skies, a light drizzle, and a temperature that made me seriously question why anyone would willingly leave Verdanian warmth for an English winter. It had been two weeks since our return, and life had settled back into its rhythm: work at Kensington during the day, quiet nights at home with Ginger, and weekends spent organizing the first details of the wedding.

The engagement ring on my finger still felt surreal at times. I’d catch myself staring at it during meetings, watching the light reflect off the diamond, my mind drifting back to that perfect moment at the winery when Nate had gone down on one knee beside me.

Ginger had adjusted seamlessly to London life again, though I suspected she missed the wide vineyards and the warmer Verdanian weather.

That particular night, we were lying in bed after making love, slow, deep, and unhurried in the way the English cold always seemed to inspire. My body was relaxed and warm against Nate’s, our breathing gradually evening out as I soaked in the sense of wholeness those intimate moments always gave me.

Without realizing it, my hand had settled into its familiar place over my stomach, fingers resting lightly against still-warm skin. The gesture was so automatic, so unconscious, that I didn’t even notice until Nate shifted slightly beside me.

“I have a surprise for you,” he said softly, his voice still wrapped in that drowsy, post-sex tone I loved.

“I know they say women are basically ready again instantly,” I teased, turning my head toward him with a mischievous smile, “but after all that, I need at least five minutes.”

Nate laughed, but he shook his head.

“Not that kind of surprise,” he said, propping himself up on one elbow to look at me. “When we traveled, I talked to Christian about… about my condition.”

My heart gave a small jolt, a mix of curiosity and unease. We rarely talked about his infertility so directly, even though it somehow always hovered between us.

“Christian said medicine has advanced a lot since the early 2000s,” Nate continued, his voice turning more serious. “And that I should see a doctor. A fertility specialist.”

“Nate, you don’t have to do that if it’s going to frustrate you,” I said quickly, reaching up to touch his face. The last thing I wanted was for him to go through false hope or medical disappointment.

“I already did,” he said simply.

Those two words made me sit up abruptly in bed, fully awake. I pulled the sheet up over my chest, staring at him as I tried to process what he’d just said.

“What do you mean, you already did?” I asked, my voice coming out sharper than I intended.

Nate sat up too, running a hand through his hair. It was a gesture I recognized immediately as nerves.

“Christian was right,” he said carefully. “The diagnosis I got as a kid was partly a product of the medicine at the time. The testing methods were more limited. Less precise.”

My heart began to race, a hope I’d buried months ago starting to stir deep in my chest.

“What do you mean?” I asked, barely able to keep the anxiety out of my voice.

Nate took my hands, threadin

our fingers together before looking straight into my eyes.

“Maybe we can,” he said, and even though it was only a possibility, it completely changed the air in the room.” Not naturally, but IVF could be an option. It wouldn’t be easy on you… lots of tests, hormones, procedures. Still… “His thumb brushed over my knuckles. “Annie, do you want to try?”

For a few seconds, I couldn’t form words. The hope that had started as a tiny spark had turned into a roaring fire in my chest. Without thinking, I threw myself into his arms, holding him as tightly as I could.

“More than anything,” I murmured against his neck, tears of joy already burning in my eyes. “More than anything in the world.” I pulled back just enough to look at him, my heart racing. “When can we start?”

The smile that spread across Nate’s face was pure happiness mixed with relief.

“I knew you’d say that,” he said, kissing my forehead softly. “So… I already scheduled an initial appointment for next week.”

“I love you,” I said, too excited to stay still. “I love you so much, Nathaniel Carter.”

I rolled onto my back, staring up at the ceiling as my mind raced with all the possibilities that had suddenly opened up. Carrying a child inside me. Maybe a little girl with Nate’s green eyes. Or a boy with my stubborn

smile.

But even in the middle of all that excitement, one certainty stayed steady in my heart.

“I still want to stay on the adoption list,” I said, turning my head to look at Nate. “No matter what happens. I know you’ve always wanted that, and now I do too.”

He looked at me with genuine surprise.

“Really? Two kids? Are we ready for that?”

I laughed, a lightness in my chest I hadn’t felt in months. Life felt full of possibility again, and I wanted all of it.

“Me, you, two kids, and a dog,” I recited, half-singing. “A thick blanket, a good movie in the cold August weather. So,are you in?”

Nate frowned slightly, clearly missing the song reference, but he laughed anyway and answered, “I’m in.”
