Hired a Gigolo Got a Billionaire (Zoey and Christian) novel Chapter 506

Chapter 506

Madeline’s POV

“Yes.”

Dominic’s voice echoed right after mine, confirming it. Sealing it.

Then he grabbed me by the waist, one possessive hand pressed hard against my back, and kissed me.

Nausea surged up my throat. His lips were cold against mine-demanding, invasive, utterly revolting. I wanted to shove him away. Wanted to scream. Wanted to spit and scrub my mouth until every trace of him was gone.

But I didn’t.

I endured it. Endured that disgusting performance while the sound of Vivian’s phone filled the air.

Click! Click! Click!

Capturing that grotesque moment for eternity.

Finally, Dominic pulled back. A satisfied smile curved his lips.

“Now for the practical part,” he said, like we were wrapping up a routine business deal.

He walked over to a small table beside the improvised altar and picked up a folder of documents. He returned, opened it in front of me, and pointed to a line at the bottom of the first page.

“Sign here.”

I looked down.

It was a marriage certificate. Every field already filled in.

I took the pen he offered and signed. My hand was shaking so badly the signature was barely legible, but it was there.

Dominic took the document back and signed immediately after, his handwriting steady. Perfect.

“Now it’s official,” he said, slipping the document back into the folder. “Or at least it will be once I validate it. Bribing a registry clerk is easier than you think.”

He turned back to me, that smile still firmly in place.

“We’re married now, darling,” he continued, triumph ringing in his voice. “That girl is my daughter. My family. I finally got what-”

“Second copy,” Vivian interrupted, pushing another sheet of paper toward him.

Dominic barely glanced at it. He took the pen and signed quickly where indicated, still talking.

“I finally got what I’ve always wanted. The Sullivan parks. Control. Everything-‘

But I wasn’t listening to him anymore.

I was watching Vivian.

Watching the paper she slid in front of me.

And I saw it.

She subtly lifted the previous document-the one Dominic had just signed-so that when I signed, it wouldn’t be on the same page.

They were different documents.

Our eyes met for a fraction of a second.

Vivian didn’t say anything. Didn’t signal. Didn’t explain.

She just looked at me.

And I understood the choice in front of me.

I had no reason to trust Vivian. She’d made my life hell. Followed Dominic’s orders without question. Stolen my daughter. Shot Marcus.

And yet… for reasons I couldn’t fully explain, I stayed silent.

Dominic didn’t deserve my loyalty.

He didn’t deserve anything from me.

So I signed the different paper Vivian had placed in front of me-whatever it was.

Vivian immediately removed it from sight, slipping it quickly into the folder with the rest of the documents.

“Do we have everything?” Dominic asked her, completely unaware of the switch.

“Yes,” Vivian replied, her voice neutral. “Everything is signed and documented.”

Dominic paused. Looked at me with that satisfied smile.

Then he pulled me into another kiss-shorter this time, but just as repulsive.

When he pulled away, his eyes locked onto mine.

And there was something cold there.

Something final.

“Excellent,” he said calmly. “You can kill her now.”

For a second, the words didn’t register.

They made no sense.

And then they did.

“No!” I screamed, already running toward the basket where Aurora slept. “You’re not going to kill my daughter! This was a deal! I married you!”

I reached the basket, throwing myself in front of it, my body shielding Aurora, my arms spread wide in pure instinct.

But Dominic just laughed.

“And who said I’m going to kill my daughter?” he said, genuine amusement in his voice. “I’m talking about you, Madeline.”

The world stopped.

“You’ve just become disposable,” he went on, strolling toward me like this was all casual. “And I don’t keep anything around that isn’t useful to me.”

“But… but…” My voice cracked. “I married you… you said—”

“Yes,” Dominic agreed, stopping just a few feet away. “First, I killed that Kensington with his hero complex. Then we got married-complete with photos and a signed document proving we were together when you died.”

He tilted his head, like he was explaining something obvious to a child.

“And then… well, then you have a tragic death. So young. Poor thing. Victim of a stray bullet. You know how these rural places are, right? Violence. Crime. No one will question it too much.”

My heart was pounding so hard it hurt.

“And lastly,” he continued, his smile widening, “lastly, I adopt Aurora. My poor orphaned stepdaughter. Heir to the Sullivan parks, which I will very lovingly manage on her behalf. And look at that…”

He laughed, truly delighted.

“She’s a Kensington heir too. That part I hadn’t even planned. But what a bonus.”

“You’re a monster!” I screamed, my hands curling into fists. “A monster! I gave you everything you wanted!”

“So many ideas crossed my mind, you know?” Dominic went on, as if I hadn’t spoken. “I could’ve forged the DNA documents. But those damn blue eyes would always raise suspicion. Maybe I’ll make her wear contact lenses for the rest of her life to hide those horrible Kensington eyes.”

He sighed, like he was weighing a difficult problem.

“Then… then I actually considered staying married to you, Madeline. Truly. But you already caused me trouble once. You humiliated me publicly when you ran like that. No, no… better to cut the problem off at the root. A widower with a small daughter is much more… manageable.”

“Please,” I whispered, hating how my voice sounded. Weak. Desperate. “Please, Dominic. I’ll do anything for my daughter. Anything you want. Just let me live long enough to see her grow up. Please.”

Dominic pretended to think. Put a hand on his chin. Looked up at the sky, as if he were genuinely considering it.

Then he smiled.

“No.”

He turned to Vivian.

“Kill her.”

Time slowed.

I saw Vivian raise the gun. Saw her aim it straight at me. Saw her finger move to the trigger, tightening.

Everything in slow motion. As if the universe was giving me time to understand that these were my last seconds. That I wouldn’t see Aurora grow up. That I wouldn’t be there for her first smile, her first word, her first steps.

That Dominic had won.

And then-

The sound of a gunshot ripped through the air.
