His Ex-Wife Is A Billionaire (Evadne and Thaddeus) novel Chapter 1331

Thaddeus Abernathy was slightly surprised, but his mind was too preoccupied to dwell on it. "Is that so? Give me the exact time. If you have a moment, I'll treat you to dinner."

"I have to see you! I'd crawl there or jump out of a plane just to meet up with you!"

"There's no need to be that dramatic," Thaddeus replied, pausing for a moment. "What brings you to Elmsworth?"

Derek Holt lowered his voice conspiratorially. "I'll tell you, but you can't breathe a word to anyone!"

"Then keep it to yourself. I can't keep a secret to save my life."

"Come on," Derek scoffed. "We're brothers-in-arms who survived the battlefield together. I know you better than that. You'd take a secret to your grave!"

Thaddeus was speechless.

"Actually, I'm here escorting His Majesty, the Emperor of Helgen."

"The royal family?"

"I'll fill you in on the details when we meet. Simply put, it involves the royal bloodline. It's not something I can explain in a few words."

Thaddeus had no interest in the secret scandals of foreign royalty, so he replied indifferently, "All right, we'll talk when we see each other."

...

In the early hours of the morning, the luxurious living room of the villa felt empty and cold.

Chad Abernathy sat on a dark red velvet sofa with his long legs crossed, leisurely sipping his red wine. The vintage record player was turned up to maximum volume, filling the dim, oppressive space with a soaring soprano aria.

It masked the agonizing, hoarse cries and whimpers of the woman upstairs.

"Uncle Mason," Chad greeted, immediately stepping forward with an eager smile to pour him a glass of wine. "How was it? Are you satisfied?"

Mason took the glass, downed the wine in one gulp, and licked his lips, which were still smeared with the woman's lipstick. "Her chest wasn't big enough, and she wasn't curvy enough. But at least she's young and has soft skin. I barely applied any pressure, and she practically bruised. Still, she wasn't very obedient, and her crying was annoying. You need to train her better."

"It is my fault for not training her properly. Next time you come..."

"You should know I never play with the same woman twice," Mason interrupted, shooting Chad a look of disdain. "Unlike you, I'm never short on women."

A venomous glint flashed through Chad's eyes, but his smile remained perfectly intact. "You're absolutely right. It's my lack of experience."

Mason handed the empty glass back to him and asked lazily, "How is the plan to swallow the Abernathy group coming along?"

"The proposal for the new drug research institute has been submitted to the board. Half of the directors have agreed, and I've practically secured the other half. Now, as long as I get Frederic Abernathy's affirmative vote, the project can move forward. When the time comes, I'll halt all ongoing operations within the Abernathy group. All the funding acquired from the A5 Project will be funneled directly into the new drug institute."
