"Tonight?!"
Morgan wasn't necessarily scared, but he was completely caught off guard. "But I haven't prepared anything."
"You don't need to prepare a thing. I've already arranged everything."
Chad slowly opened his eyes, a cruel smile curling his lips. "In a little while, you'll drive out there, intercept their car, and gun them down.
"You don't have to worry about anything else. Someone will clean up the mess for you. Don't worry, I laced their drinks. The drugs will take effect soon. All you have to do is pull the trigger."
Morgan looked confused. "Then why didn't you just poison him to death? Since it's your territory, wouldn't that save us the trouble?"
Chad let out a cold laugh. "Mr. Morgan, since you've sworn your loyalty to me, you need to offer up a proper initiation. If I do everything, what exactly is your purpose?"
Morgan's face flushed with embarrassment. "Understood. I'll tail them right away."
"As long as you successfully eliminate him tonight, millions of dollars will be wired directly into your account."
Morgan's eyes lit up with greed. He bowed repeatedly, overflowing with gratitude, before happily rushing off to complete his mission.
"Sir, how do you plan to handle the cleanup?"
The secretary asked hurriedly, "Should we dump the bodies in the ocean, bury them, or..."
"We do nothing."
The secretary froze. "Nothing? Forgive me for speaking out of turn, but if the police find Mason Austin's body, a simple investigation will reveal that he's a convicted felon who was smuggled out of prison years ago. Not only that, given his high-profile background, it won't take long for them to connect him to you as your uncle. Won't that bring the police straight to our door? Mr. Thaddeus and the Ashbourne family are watching you like hawks, desperate for any leverage. We can't just hand them a vulnerability on a silver platter!"
"Who told you I was going to do nothing? You'll see exactly what happens tomorrow."
Chad's eyes leaked a chilling cruelty as he stood up gracefully. "Come upstairs with me. Let's see how she's holding up."
Inside the bedroom, the heavy scent of sweat and blood hung thick in the air. Only a dim, reddish glow emanated from the bedside lamp, casting a suffocating silence over the space.
