After we managed to pause the kissing, we enjoyed the picnic that Liam had arranged and it was beautiful but I’m getting distracted by all the questions that are swarming my head, that and wanting to climb back into Liam’s lap and kiss the s**t out of him.

Once we’ve finished, we decide to head back to the packhouse so we can talk with the others, Liam links our fingers as we walk back and I feel shy and nervous about seeing everyone but I’m also incredibly proud to have Liam as my mate and I want everyone to see.

He doesn’t seem to care who sees us as he tightens his hold on my hand rather than letting it go as we step inside.

We head for the stairs to go to my floor when we cross paths with Jake, he gives me a friendly smile but I don’t miss Liam tensing up next to me nor do I miss the low growl he lets out.

“Wait…is that why you didn’t like Jake?”

“He’s wanted you from the very first time he saw you, he still does now!” He growls out. Instead of saying anything I press a gentle kiss to his lips and feel him instantly relax, we carry on up the stairs until we arrive at the Alpha lounge and my nerves kick back in.

We step inside and the place is full, Brooke and Cal are here with Bella, Levi, and Cami and Jack and Ashley are here with Willow they start clapping and cheering us the moment they see us and I feel the effects of my embarrassment burn my cheeks.

Liam lets out a chuckle from beside me before he wraps his arm around my waist pulling me into him and placing a gentle kiss on my temple.

“I’m so happy for you guys!” Brooke gives us both a side hug as Cami sleeps in her arms and it starts off a trend as everyone takes it in turns congratulating us with hugs, even the kids join in, not that they have a clue what’s going on.

Cal, Jack, and Liam head for the kitchen to make coffees while I take a seat in the last free chair and I swear to the moon goddess I actually miss him, he’s only a few feet away and I can see him but I miss him! How is that even possible?

“He misses you too!” Ellie chimes in my head and I’m instantly swooning.

“How are you feeling sweetheart? I can’t imagine how crazy this must be for you!” Brooke’s beaming smile keeps me relaxed and I’m just glad that everyone is happy for us.

“I think I’m still in shock, this is so surreal, I have so many questions swarming around my head but I don’t even know where to start! I still can’t believe he knew all this time, that you all knew!”

“He needed us to know so we could help him and he knew his behaviour wouldn’t be normal and that we’d notice, I hope you’re not mad at anyone, it really couldn’t be any other way!”

“I’m not mad at anyone Brooke, in fact, I’m glad he had you guys to help him because I can’t imagine what he’s been through!” Before any more can be said the guys return putting the coffees on the table.

Cal scoops Brooke up and places her in his lap and Jack and Ashley soon follow, Liam walks up to my chair and stops in front of me, he gives me his cheeky smile and wink before he picks me up and sets me in his lap.

Maybe I should feel shy around everyone but I don’t, I don’t care, I want to be close to my mate all the time, and thank goddess he seems to feel the same way.

“I can’t believe how well you guys kept this from me!” I never suspected a thing.

Cal: Oh Bethany believe me when I say it wasn’t easy, there were so many times that you came close to finding out, so many times we had to cover his a*s!”

Liam: Too many times! I hated that I had to hide it from you, we all did but it’s just how it had to be!” I give him a reassuring smile so he knows it’s ok, I get why they had to do it and I’m not mad.

Ashley: “The first time you destroyed your office I thought it would come out!”

“That was because of me?” I had no idea!

Liam: “Do you remember the day it happened? I came into the games room and you were there?”

“Yes I do, Jake was teaching me to play pool and you came in but you had a strange look on your face…oh!”

Liam: “I was already having a bad day, struggling with everything, I came to look for you to help calm myself down but then I saw

Liam: “Yeah that was because of the situation too but that was a little different…!” He gives me a strange look but then links me telling me he’ll tell me another time when we’re on our own, it makes me want to know what it is more but I’ll wait until he’s ready.

Brooke: “Bethany Liam has been so incredible throughout all of this, from the moment you arrived he’s always made sure you were safe, protected and looked after in every possible way even when it had to look like someone else was doing it, he never complained, as long as you were happy, he was too!”
