Chapter 153

Love

Tears rushed to my eyes when I got in the car. Fear, fear. I felt fear of losing my best friends. It seemed had lost both of them in one night. The driver waited for me to speak before he started driving.

“To my house.”

We soon arrived at my place. As soon as I got out of the car, the scent of my family enveloped me. The whole part of the forest was overwhelmed with their different auras. It whipped around like a tornado. I made my way to the front door and pushed it open.

I went to the backyard where the chatter was coming from.

A table was placed with a feast on it. Sitting at the head was the king and on his right, the Queen. Dad took the other end next to my mom. They looked so regal and impeccable, yet they were casual. They radiated happiness. They made it. They had their happiness after everything.

Mom flashed me a smile when she noticed me.

“Love, you’re here,”

“Good morning, everyone,” I greeted them, going to my mother’s side. I kissed her hair.

“Good morning, lovely girl,” my father said.

I exchanged plees with everyone before I called my brother to the side.

“Where’s Nicholas?” I whispered. I didn’t want everyone to know about my current predicament.

“He’s in the forest. We should meet him there.”

We headed down the forest. As we walked to meet the lycan Prince, I asked Aerys about his mate.

His anger and pain were back again. His eyes darkened, yet I could see the yearning in his eyes.

“I don’t know where she is,” he was dismissive. I ignored the slithering rage in his gaze.

“How could you easily give into the committee’s wishes so fast? She is your mate, your Luna,”

I kept my voice as gentle as possible. I knew anything could trigger him,

“The privy committee unanimously partitioned to execute her after evidence of her betrayal was found. I dragged my feet about it and came up with a solution to spare her and save us from war with the vampires,” he said, his voice monotone. His crippling anger betrayed him when he spoke about it. He cared_ so much.

“You could-”

“The evidence was overwhelming. They were phone records, chats, documents. People testified against her,” he growled.

“And did you believe all that?”

He stopped walking. His gaze was far away.

“It doesn’t matter. I did what was necessary for our people,” he said. Poor Elizabeth.

We came to a clearing surrounded by tall building trees. It looked so magical and serene. The Prince was sitting in

a meditating position under one of the oak trees. His face washed away from any form of perturbation. He looked so at peace. There was a different aura around him. It was tranquil and settled in the area. I was in awe of it.

“What is he doing?”

“He does that sometimes. He goes into the beyond realm,” Aery’s voice dropped. I gaped at that.

The Beyond was a world inhabited by supernatural spirits. It was filled with dazzling creatures of all kinds. That is where our counterparts are before they join us on our sixteentli birthdays. The beyond consisted of good and evil. Heaven and hell. Light and darkness.

I heard stories about old lycans’ journeys to the beyond realm. Only the outstanding ones with tremendous energy and clean hearts could access both the physical and the beyond world. They have incredible discipline that took half a century to master. It was rare, so rare. Yet, the young Prince could do it.

“How powerful is he?” I mused in a whisper.

“Mentally stable, Nicholas is just… Beyond human understanding,”

No wonder people feared his abilities. He had too much power. My brother got small pebbles in his hand and started throwing them at him. However, the Lycan Prince wouldn’t flinch. His soul had already left his body.

Aerys threw the fifth one when Nicholas caught it right between his eyes while still closed.

His eyes snapped open. He frowned, inspecting the small white pebble before throwing it back to Aerys. My brother dodged. Nicholas stood up, almost levitating before his feet touched the ground.

” Love,”

“Good morning,” I waved.

“Your lycan is stuck in the beyond,” he informed me.

“What do you mean by that?”

“I could feel her presence after my long search. Yet, I couldn’t see her,”

I touched my chest, a sharp pain piercing me.

“I felt her earlier when I was with Ellis,” I told them.

“She’s drawn to the matebond,” whispered Aerys. Indeed. However, I couldn’t only rely on Ellis to bring her back. I had to do my part before she was lost for good.

“You are more connected with your lycan. You have a chance of getting her back,” he said. I nodded.

“Sit in a meditating position, and calm your mind and heart. Let your body’s energy flow freely. Let’s try to follow your Lycan into the beyond,”

I looked at him, shocked. Even Aerys looked unsure.

“Isn’t that too extreme for her? She could end up a lost soul there. Dad would kill me,” my brother murmured. He was right. I could get lost or be pulled into the inescapable darkness,

“I’ll hold her hand to guide her,” Nicholas snickered.

Not just anyone can walk into the Beyond. It requires so much strength and calmness of the mind, body, and soul. I would have to disconnect from my human self. Many have tried and failed. Others got lost in there. My body
