I could feel my frustration bubble back in me when nothing worked. Darkness covered me, and my eyes and mind opened to the world around us. I glanced toward my brother. He frowned, knowing it had failed. I gritted my teeth together, resisting the urge to cry. The Prince let my hand go. His shoulders relaxed.

“You’ll keep trying, even when you’re alone,” he said in more of an order. I gave him a small smile and nodded. My brother helped me up and hugged me. I pulled away from him.

“It’s past lunch. We should go back to the house,” I said, checking my phone. I received messages from Ellis. He was asking me how it was going. I didn’t respond to him immediately though. I decided to call him instead.

“I’ll talk to Ellis,” I whispered, dialing his phone as I walked a few paces from the boys. When my mate answered, I could feel the emotions of relief that coursed through him.

After concluding my call, I joined my brother and cousin. They were discussing something. Nicholas seemed to be in a pleasing mood,

“You’re falling for this spirit. You know nothing can ever happen between you two, right?” Aerys chuckled,

“I’m not falling for her,” the Prince refused. I could see the smile that started to form on his lips before it vanished. He didn’t want Aerys to see him smiling over a spirit.

“OK, what does this nonspirit’ look like?”

“A white wolf,” he answered.

“There are white wolves other than the Queen?” I asked. It was like they had just noticed me now.

My children have joined us at the house now. They were excited about seeing everyone.

The day was filled with laughter and stories. The Lycan Queen and my mother even prepared a steak lunch. However, I wished my mate had been there with us, but he was busy with the upcoming meeting that will take place soon.

It was evening now, and everyone was ready to leave. The royal family was going to the North and the Chasias to the West. There was a two-hour flight between the two packs.

Dad carried Cayden and Solara in his arms as he bid goodbye to them. He was the best Grandfather to them. I took a quick snap of the moment.

I was pulled away from the rest by my brother,

“I’m glad I saw you.”

“I did, too. Let’s keep in touch, please.”

He only smiled at me. My brother often ignored my calls. I hugged him.

“Just continue doing what Nicholas taught you carlier to help the recovery of your lycan. Also, I’ll speak to Selena when we get home,” he told me.

A car pulled into the driveway. It was Ellis’. He stepped out of the car and the children ran to him. My emotions slammed against me. I didn’t know how much I missed him until I saw him. His eyes met mine, and they shone with happiness. He missed me as much as I did. I rushed into his arms once he put the children down. I wrapped my arms around his waist, and his muscular arms wrapped me, securing me tightly. He inhaled my scent and planted a kiss on top of my head,

“I did,” I admitted. At this moment, the world fades away. It was only us – the four of us. A clearing of the throat brought us to reality.

“Ellis-” my father started. I had to cut in. I had enough of the hate he was receiving from my family now.

“Dad, if you are going to go on about-”

“Let me talk, baby,” he interrupted. I let him speak but kept a slight glare on my face.

“You’re doing such a great job,”

The glare vanished from my face when those words left my father’s mouth. Ellis exhaled, his eyes shining with gratitude. My Dad continued,

“You’re doing a great job as an alpha, a Dad – You’re all the twins talk about. But most importantly, you’re doing a wonderful job as a mate. You make Love so happy, and I’m pleased you’re part of our family.”

I didn’t expect Dad to say that. His acceptance of Ellis in our family is a big deal. I felt emotional and wrapped my arms around my father.

“You’re mellowing in your old age. I love it ”

“I blame your Mom,” he groaned, but I heard the amusement in his voice.

Ellis was still shocked. He always wanted my father’s approval for such a long time, and he got it.

“Thank you for your kind words, Alpha. It means so much to me,” he bowed low. To everyone’s shock, Dad reciprocated.
