Chapter 155
Love
I felt so much pain in my heart when I saw Luis. His gaze held mine. His eyes were soft and regretful. Next to him, Zeyneb bit her lips in anticipation. She was worried about how I would react. My gaze went to Luis again. I didn’t expect the disarray I was thrown into. I felt tears begin to form in my eyes, but I tried not to cry.
Ellis patted my back and went past me into the house. Zeyneb followed, too. We didn’t say a word to each other for
a moment.
“Love, I’m sorry,” he broke the silence. My mouth was inescapable of opening.
Tears rushed down my cheeks freely.
When my father proposed the idea of being your bodyguard, I took it without thinking twice about it because you have always been my friend. I love you so much, and I knew no one would protect you better than me,” he sucked in a breath.
“I should have been honest from the beginning, but I was scared you’d hate me. Well, you do, so that wasn’t a good plan. However, Love, I’m your true friend. My father stopped taking money from your family three months after we started staying together. Protecting you and being by your side wasn’t a job for me. It was something I wanted to do because of our amazing bond. It was my honor.”
It was too much. I am crying buckets now. I walked up to him. I could tell he was apprehensive. Before he saw it coming, I hugged him.
Oh, Love…” he exhaled. “I’m sorry, babe,”
Luis’ arms cover me with his arms. He held me closer. I pulled back and wiped my tears. I looked at him with a serious expression.
“Don’t ever lie to me like that again, Luis.”
“I won’t,” he whispered.
The surrounding air was lighter now. I frowned, noting there were tear stains on his cheeks,
Aaw, you cried,” I smiled,
“Because you scared me,” he chuckled, clearing his teary-stained cheeks.
We hugged once more. Luis and I talked more about the attacks that were made by my father’s enemy. He blocked them and made sure I lived a normal life. Not long ago, the man was taken into custody and was found guilty of attempted murder and fraud.
We entered the house while we held hands. I met my mate’s eyes once we entered the main room. He smiled at me.
Zeyneb squealed and rushed to hug us, “I’m so glad you two made up!”
I was happy Luis was there with me. I updated him on what had been happening in the last few hours.
After dinner, we decided to decorate the house for the twin’s birthday tomorrow. We’d have a big party tomorrow, and later at night, the meeting with the vampire would take place.
We looked at the decoration and nodded.
“Good job, guys,” I said, impressed with my work.

I was so exhausted by the time we got to bed that we didn’t even change our clothes. His musky scent lured rue to sleep immediately. I dreamt about Vee being stuck in the beyond. She was fighting for her way back.
The following day there was a rat race as it was the day of the birthday party. We woke the twins early with cakes and so many kisses. They slept in the same room, so it was easier. They had their favorite breakfast. We’d been receiving so many calls from Ellis’ parents and mine. Even the Luna Queen called to see the twins on their special day.
It was such a happy moment. It wasn’t even mid-morning, and they had a room full of presents.
“This is going to be the best birthday ever!” Solara jogged downstairs, her brother following her. I carried her, and kissed her little cheek,
‘My little six-year-old!” I grunted. Time flies indeed. My children were everything to me. They gave me strengtly when I was at my weakest. They comforted me in ways they’ll never understand even without them knowing. I hugged my son as well. I could tell they wanted to tell me something but were scared.
“What did you do?” I questioned, my eyes and voice suspicious. The twins exchanged a glance,
“Mommy. Lara stained her pink dress with nail paint by accident,” Cayden said, slowly.
“it’s nail polish, Cay,” Solara rolled her pretty big eyes.
“I just don’t see the difference,” Cayden shrugged.
“Guys, back to topic,” I snapped.
Sorry, Mummy, It was an accident. I was opening the gift that Granny sent us,
“Okay. Next time be more careful. You’ll just wear the other orange dress,” I told her. She grimaced,
“Not orange, Mummy. It doesn’t look too good on me. I want a pink dress!” she said stubbornly.
Mummy, let’s go get the pink dress before the party starts,” she whines. My daughter’s favorite color is pink. She loves it and wears pink outfits for every occasion.
I nodded. We could rush to the boutique while everyone is busy.
“Cay, we’ll be back soon,” I kissed my son and grabbed my daughter’s hand.
I went to the car. I fastened Solara’s belt on the back seat before getting into the driver’s seat.
It was a fifteen-minute drive to the mall. I thought it would be an easy pick but it wasn’t. My daughter was quite fashionable. The two store assistants were impressed with her!
She tried on six pink dresses before she picked’ the one,’
The pink dress was so pretty with a huge bow. We got matching shoes to go with it.
Are you happy, baby?” I caressed her chin. She nodded happily.
“Yes, thank you, Mummy, and I’m not a baby. I’m six years old,”
“You’ll always be my baby. No matter how big you get,” I told her. She smiled at me.
I carried her dress and we went back to the car. I started the engine. My phone rang as I began to drive. It was Ellis calling. I put the phone on loudspeaker,
“Love, where are you? Why didn’t you tell me you were leaving? You didn’t get security!”

“Babe, relax. I didn’t even think of all that as it was a quick errand,”
“You have a fucking stalker-”
“You’re on speaker,” I told him.
Sorry, hi, my baby!” he said to Solara.
